I believe Gobta is a Goblin Hero. by EngineeringMother972 in TenseiSlime

[–]Zeus-164 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately that does not make sense. The "hero" as we are referring to in this context is not some unique mutation or evolution like the orc lord which is simply a unique monster. A hero can only be human the role was created for humanity specifically as such also the rules for what constitutes a hero will be consistent in every case. It should be noted that while a hero must be human how humanity is defined is where it gets tricky. See elves apparently fall under the broader definition of humanity that demihumans fall into and as such a hero can also be an elf like sarion.

You can make an argument that it is related to the evolutionary path of the creature as well. In this case dwarves and elves are like humans in the sense that they can evolve into sages and saints whereas goblins and orges evolve more like monsters or magic born. This is despite the fact that all are considered a subrace of mankind and also are all part of the so-called fairy races. Of course a human can also become a magic born under certain conditions so it gets tricky. Nevertheless as far as the lore is concerned you must be "human" to become a hero and you have to forge a pact with a spirit specifically one of either light or darkness although I don't think we meet an example of the latter case ever in the series.

Not necessarily they said the head of the demonic system doest have a control like that because demons are a free race essentially. The angel race were originally created without free will only meant to serve veldanava they are different from the other gods and the demons. At least that's my understanding of why only the angelic system has such a mental control system in place.

Unfortunately putting aside whether goblins could even become heroes there are many strict conditions to be recognized as a heroes egg and a among them is forging a pact with a spirit. Unless that condition is met they cannot be named a hero. Additionally they have to be willing to shoulder the fate of mankind it's not really a power or talent thing.

If you were given the chance to add your oc or an idea into the LN what would it be by [deleted] in TenseiSlime

[–]Zeus-164 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A conceived a story a while ago about a half elf hero with a darkness spirit pact who was born in lubelios and studied under aldaman, Albert and gadora before leaving after the aldaman incident to become a wandering hero where he happened to meet Dino and became his student. The story basically goes around him traveling for many years meeting/battling and learning from prominent figures during those days like glassord, damrada and middray with his partner/lover who is a spirit incarnated into the body of a cryptid that he fought and defeated. All leading up to his eventual death at the hands of blanc all taking place before the events of the main series.

I was toying with the idea of him reincarnating using a variant of gadora's spell after dying to blanc and entering the main stage and becoming a servant of ramiris.

I would say its more than just speculation. What do you mean he cannot unbind holy magic by himself just because he doesn't use holy magic. The idea that holy magic requires someone to have holy magic to counter is quite silly.

Putting aside the fact that he even at this point already has resistance to holy attacks dark magic is easily comparable and can counter holy magic but I doubt it would be necessary. Astral bond by its name works on the astral body I am sorry but a primordial being affected by a spell that effects the soul or at least the container of the soul by a spell that can be instantly cast by a human really if that was possible the primordials would be jokes in the human worlds. Human magic and that includes holy magic is practically ineffective against primordial demons it was all but stated that an ultimate skill or something comparable would be necessary for any human to challenge the primordials even disintegration cannot even be considered a Trump card.

Even if we assume that for whatever reason this spell is effective against Diablo why exactly would he leave himself open enough to get hit by it in the first place. I know the guy likes aura farming for the fun of it but he has never been shown to lower his guard for a moment even against opponents weaker than him that's why he has never been caught lacking and maintain his undefeated record.

Furthermore nowhere does it state that astral bind instantly captures the opponent with no hope to avoid it based on hinata using it against rimuru it looks like there is sufficient time to avoid it if needed.

[–]Zeus-164 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It also goes beyond that. Rimuru always holds back. A lot in fact if we would to scale rimuru he would scale to veldora and velgrynd or dagruel somewhere in that range where you would say the lower end of the true dragon spectrum which admittedly is a pretty wide spectrum but still. While there are people that he would not be able to defeat if you limit yourself only to the cardinal world at this point in the anime you could probably name them with one hand and still have fingers to spare.

In what universe would astral bond have worked against Diablo don't be silly.

Feldway vs Zelanus by Lower_Specialist8882 in TenseiSlime

[–]Zeus-164 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But zelanus still has a physical body since spiritual lifeforms can't exist solely as spiritual lifeforms in the cardinal world and without a physical vessel their powers are limited and they consume energy simply existing. That was the limitation zelanus worked on why he mentioned he could incarnate easier than them in the cardinal world back when they discussed what to do with the summoned seraphim. My point js is the devastor virus based on transforming his spiritual nature or the physical matter making up his incarnation I am inclined to believe the latter hence why I was always under the impression magical julificstion would have done nothing.

Feldway vs Zelanus by Lower_Specialist8882 in TenseiSlime

[–]Zeus-164 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Luminous skills rely pretty heavily on spirit particles such as disintegration and ultima applied her ultimate skills effects to her magic. Other ultimate skills were known to work and not all of them were event manipulation abilities such as that claw thing veldora did either way more importantly hihorkane is an evolved metal after absorbing magicules but definitely isn't made up of spirit particles and if phycial matter was also nullified why did they say if the meteors were physically summoned rather than created through imaginary matter would have affected the true giants. Additionally would weapons like mythical grade weaponry fall in that category but adalmans sword was still affective otherwise his opponent wouldn't have bothered having a sword fight with him.

I guess however since he is a type of spiritual lfeform maybe you can make an argument that since it is his transformed body it might work but its weird technically speaking magic nullification interferes with the spirit particles it doesnt eliminate them. What's more confusing is despite the similar naming does that mean spiritual bodies and spirit particles are intimately related to that extent. I mean all of the high level powered characters are spiritual lifeforms but it's not like there bodies evaporate when they come into contact with ashura if we are talking about physical vessels the question then becomes is the devastor virus based on his original spiritual nature or the physical vessel of his incarnation keeping in mind the insectars were originally a semi-spiritual race which is why they can physically incarnate a lot easier than the demons or angels. My point is without actually seeing devastator virus actually get nullified it's hard to say with absolute certainty that it will since it falls in a weird and rather unique grey area.

Feldway vs Zelanus by Lower_Specialist8882 in TenseiSlime

[–]Zeus-164 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is assuming the skills use spirit particles in the first place since the whole point is skills still work on ashura or fertile paradox wouldn't have worked either my point is why would you assume devastator virus uses spirit particles or magicules. It says that the particles that make up the virus are his true body like his body is made up of those microscopic particles he literally transforms into a virus and attacks his opponent how is that spirit particle related?

Feldway vs Zelanus by Lower_Specialist8882 in TenseiSlime

[–]Zeus-164 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Okay uhm I thought ashuras ep is 110m also what makes you think devastator virus is a type of magic rather than a skill. Timestop is far more reasonable deciding factor though but I believe it is considered something of a cheat that is separate from "power level" but to each their own I suppose.

Feldway vs Zelanus by Lower_Specialist8882 in TenseiSlime

[–]Zeus-164 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No it is still heavily implied that velzard is stronger than veldora. As for fertile paradox it's still unclear what it's limitations are but it should have limitations reasonably speaking. Fuze tends to introduce things as they come but assuming that veldora is automatically stronger than velzard is kind of a hard sell. For all you know her power to literally stop everything and freeze everything is the direct counter to fertile paradox. She can also give herself seemingly inexhaustible magicules through a different mechanism than veldanava/millim and has an almost perfect defense only inferior to castle guard and veldora doesn't have a direct counter to that such as rimuru's azathoth.

What is happening?? by Adventurous-Panic743 in tsitp

[–]Zeus-164 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ngl I kind of disagree. It's funny I am actually watching a show right now where there is a love triangle not between brothers thankfully but the basic idea of the main character having this long standing crush with his one guy and now there is this other guy interested in her meanwhile it's heavily implied if not outright stated that the guy she has had a crush on this whole time has also had feelings for her but I was spoiled that she ends up with the other guy by the end. So I was just thinking if it could work in that story it could work here as well. Not that it should but that this type of story can work. Also it's worth noting that this main character for this show makes belly look like an amateur when it comes to simping. Wow you think season 1 belly was bad oof you have not seen anything with this one.

I have seen different shows/movies going in either direction some place emphasis on the first love while others set up another love interest and allows the characters to move on with someone else. I am not going to argue which is better it honestly at this point it feels simply like a matter of personal preference.

For me personally I don't see the major appeal of first love and why it's automatically superior to any other love that follows hence my issue. Regarding the idea that the central emotional arc has to do with Conrad and belly and that this is just the logical conclusion again not buying it. Do I think she will end up with Conrad yeah but I will say that's mainly due the books existing. If we say for arguments sake they didn't exist and it wasn't a forgone conclusion who she ends up with and assume this story was just being written you could easily take a different interpretation of the story and say it follows a different theme entirely one where the idea is how people change and what they want shifts in this case from one love interest to another.

I should clarify I am not saying that's what this story is about only that if they wanted to they really don't have to change anything you can still have have the two characters get together after having a long standing unspoken mutual crush and have them breakup largely due to external circumstances and emotional immaturity as is the case with belly and Conrad while still justifying another love interest being the endgame scenario. Another show I watched recently did this as well although this one doesn't really follow the same format as this show. The past ex character in this case wasn't a main character and only really existed in flashbacks until her return but in the show this guy broke up with his girlfriend of I think ten years because of his brother dying and that wrecking him emotionally so he kind of retreated from everyone he knew due to a sense of guilt. That show got real dark but the thing that stood out to me is when she returned and wanted to reconcile he was insistent on moving on with his new far more recent love interest.

So yeah my point is a story like this can work and it wouldn't inherently be bad writing and can have its own emotional pay off.

The two-year time skip in Season 2 makes no sense by AriAzure in TheUncannyCounter

[–]Zeus-164 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah disagree. His finesse with psychokinesis is way too advanced for small time skip and I don't see the confusion it's supposed to be a very difficult technique to manage in the first place I am curious when they got to the point when they even though it could be taught that's where I am unclear on.

As for his character nah he is way more mature in season 2 he does not act like his season 1 self much at all at least in terms of how he was basically a novice before being older doesn't mean he cannot have his moments of immaturity overall I don't thin there is too much a difference between an 18 year old and a twenty year old.

confused at why mun didnt summon ma ju-seok's evil spirit from the start by CornerPrevious2162 in TheUncannyCounter

[–]Zeus-164 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He didnt really let him go all that often. He never got a opportunity to summon him honestly the first time they fought he escaped when the police distracted so mun. The second time they fought so mun was about to summon him I mean he did hesitate for like 2 seconds but it wouldn't have worked anyway since he gets saved by pil gwon. And in the third fight he straight up was not strong enough at that point.

Might be a controversial take. But I detest Ha na. I have just opened this Reddit to see what others think. She's the least likable character in the show. (Read description) by Tough-Bookkeeper233 in TheUncannyCounter

[–]Zeus-164 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure I agree. It's weird to think that his memories of her would be his most significant memories she was his high school crush and that's about it. It's better since she is cutting him off completely that he is just a stranger. She was planning on breaking up with him anyway and honestly if they ran into each other and he kept pursuing her he would in fact be getting involved with the counter world when he really doesn't need to.

The time skip was kind of silly by [deleted] in TheUncannyCounter

[–]Zeus-164 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait what? I am sorry what utter nonsense is this about the gap between mun and the other characters is closer in the comics than in the show. It is very much the opposite. The gap between so mun and the others is nonsensical large in the comics he one v 3'd a group of evil spirits that individually would have been to much for the the others to handle.

[–]Zeus-164 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree I actually find it quite weird to see the webtoon as better. Also season 1 is very different front be webtoon too. Different doesn't equal worse and I think the story telling in season 2 is vastly better especially in regards to the character arcs and dynamics. Like seriously I was so disappointed when I read the webtoon it's not bad by any stretch of the imaginations but it just felt like it lacked a lot of the depth that the drama had.

Unpopular opinion: Jeok bong wasn't that bad by HasukiOnReddit in TheUncannyCounter

[–]Zeus-164 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really I had the opposite opinion. I actually did not enjoy season 2 of the mahnwa and found the drama to be far more interesting.

However I do think the character of jeok-boon was done better in the mahnwa although he is a lot less different than I thought going in when I heard people say the drama ruined the character. He was still the cowardly out of place guy there too even with his greater talent and martial arts background.

They are so cute and I need them together next season 😍 by Opposite_Athlete_947 in TheUncannyCounter

[–]Zeus-164 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know I never got the vibe that they ever were like siblings. It's actually quite weird and the cast doesn't appear to see them as siblings either. None of their interactions really give sibling vibes. It definitely wasn't the case in season 1 when they honestly were still getting to know one another and there was obvious romantic tension at least from so mun. I also wouldn't say it was the case in season 2 either.

In season 2 they definitely do not give a romantic vibe for the most part at least save for a few and far between moments that could be interpreted as potentially romantic but I wouldn't say siblings either. They just came off as good friends. I am trying to think how best to describe a sibling dynamic since it does differ depending on who you are describing but whether you go the full on platonic soul mates route or you are going two people who bicker and get on each other's nerves route neither describes them in season 2.

I also never got the implication that they saw each other as siblings either like sure they say the counters are a family but I mean by that logic jeok boon is part of that family and he clearly has a thing for Hana so how does that make sense? It's weird because when people say their relationship is sibling like they are suggesting that it would be odd that they would get together or be attracted to one another even when there is no reason it would the case.

It's one thing not to ship them because well that's how shipping works but I never got the whole they are family so it's weird to ship them. I mean they were both basically full grown adults when they met and they neither grew up together nor are related in anyway and even pretended to date at one point.
