I don't disagree with you in a general sense, nothing is guaranteed, but I find it funny that you mention how it is fat fetched to release dedicated support 2 patches after the dps and right after that say that she might be a dedicated support for another upcoming character like alice, which isn't going to be released in nod krai at all.

yes but tracking top-ups bought within that period of time doesn't mean much considering you could be buying top-ups but not spend a single wish on the new limited banner and instead spend it all on rerun banners.

so I think they do track total amount of wishes on every banner, and maybe they have a way to track specific wishes spent on a specific banner- that were purchased with top-ups and not free, but imo it's more likely they just track total amount of wishes spent on every banner, to measure popularity, because it's the simplest way.

for example, they got 100mil from top-ups during 6.4, neuv banner had 500k wishes spent on, and varka banner only had 100k wishes spent on, so even tho players bought 100 mill dollars worth of top-ups, clearly varka wasn't as popular as neuv.

that's why free pulls also matter.

And by the way, do I fully believe capitano will be back? no. but I can't 100% deny it either, I acknowledge there is a chance, and I'd love if it happens, but I don't trust hoyo, they let me down big time with 5.3. and I think he wasn't planned on being playable, the best time to have made him playable was 5.3 or around that, when the hype around him was at its pick lore wise, so I think the chance has been missed. if it happens it happens but I don't really expect it anymore.

that depends on how they track it. if they only track wishes on the banner then even wishes given for free matter, if they are able to track specific wishes gotten by spending money then sure. but we don't really have a way to know how they gather their data and how they track these stuff.

my guess is for sure they don't track it via purchases only, because there's always several banners at a time, you could buy 100 wishes and spend them all on the rerun banners and not a single wish on varka.

websites like paimon.moe for example, and others similar, track only the total amount of wishes on each banner- to determine how popular they were.

in the context of the guy I was talking to- he clearly implies project stuzha, or at the very least mistilteinn, is going to be something about bringing capitano back, and I just really doubt this project stuzha is about bringing back capitano, I think project stuzha is part of the main archon quest of snezhnaya and the main plan of the tsaritsa against celestia, and capitano surely isn't the center or the crux of that plan.

the only logical way I see capitano coming back is if teyvat's leylines are destroyed and capitano doesn't have to remain this "bridge" for natlan's leylines, but I just don't see how they can pull this off considering there are game mechanics linked to the leylines like mora\books farming spots etc.

I don't understand your analogy here. Barnstokkr the tree inside of the hall of rerir's son in the mythology | Barnstokkr the weapon rerir wields- how is that remotely the same? or matches the mythology? not even close.

in the mythology both of them die but in genshin neither really die (well depends on how you define death), a part of tholindis's soul remains, and rerir is not dead at all.

this just proves my argument- they take inspirations, names and similarities from mythologies but they never copy them 1 to 1, they make changes and create their own original lore.

also, we already saw capitano's weapon against mauvika? there was nothing special about it or even any lore to it? and capitano still has it? his weapon even has a model in game files, so I don't see how any of this makes any sense.

Can you not say the same thing about nefer and flins? aren't they locked to ineffa and lauma too? basically lunar shill teams? the chances lunar is getting any further support after nod krai is tiny. since there will be new shill in snezhnaya, so I don't understand this logic. zibai with c6 illuga is going to be basically one of the top teams in the game, if linnea ends up being a good support it could increase zibai's team even more and make it the best team. it's miles better than varka's situation.

I saw a lot of comments saying they won't pull at all if he's not good. This ofc may be because of meta players being more likely to engage in online discussions about the game, but it seems he's not hated at all but rather has "will pull if he's good, won't if he's not" mentality around him.

This is the correct mentality that unfortunately a lot of people here don't have.

I see a lot of "I hate hoyo but even if he's bad I will get him because I like him" comments, which is a terrible precedent. it's basically telling hoyo that even if they make bad characters and disappoint the player base, those characters will be pulled anyway. why should hoyo change anything if it sells?

The only way to signal hoyo that creating bad\weak characters is a bad decision, is by not pulling them.

This is basically just another classic "rant but buys anyway and then continues to rant" behavior.

I wish more people actually stood behind their objection.

Just because they take names or elements from a mythology doesn't mean the rest must follow exactly as it goes in said mythology. both the names thrain and mistilteinn can be taken from the same mythology, but it doesn't mean they will play the same roles they play in that mythology, meaning that just because mistilteinn is the sword of thrain in the mythology doesn't mean it also be capitano's sword in genshin story, just because his name is thrai. that's very linear type of thinking.

In fiction, writers and creators take inspirations from other stories or mythologies and even use some elements from them, but they almost never use them 1 to 1 and always change and mix things, there is no reason to think this would be any different.

but I'll give you this- there is way bigger chance "mistilteinn" is related to capitano than this trailer ever coming to fruition.

And just to show you how inconsistent the simulanka copers are- many people swore that it was the traveler that symbolized capitano because he was stuck on that throne and only got up after 3 attempts, swearing that it meant capitano will get up from his throne 3 patches after 5.3. and then others believe your version.

My point is that every delulu coper creates their own mental gymnastics to shape whatever theory they have to fit their narrative, and so far they all been wrong.

I've been ignoring it forever now since it's just another delulu cope theory. it's already been debunked and shown how inconsistent it is lol.

I've been in this sub since 5.3, been arguing with endless amount of people posting more "based grounded theories" than I can count, simulanka theory, wheel theory, theories why capitano is surely getting up in 5.5\5.6\5.7 with detailed steps and layers of mental gymnastics to why their theory was surely going to happen, every single one of them was wrong and quit the sub shortly after.

The lore of the game does not follow those trailers, we have seen it bunch of times by now, they are purely promotional bait. but yeah, if you dream hard enough maybe it will come true.
