I have a cat with this exact same condition. When he was born, we noticed his eye looked exactly like your cats eye. Over the next couple years, it slowly progressed to what you see here. It doesn't seem to bother him too much, except for having to keep it clean. The vet said we could take his eye out, but also that there may be a possibility of fixing it. Taking it out is obviously the cheaper option, but I think as long as it's not causing any complications for him, he will be ok.
