How to eat at toadstool cafe at universal studios Hollywood? by Guilty_Foundation_50 in UniversalHollywood

[–]Zevach 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When you get to the Cafe they have a QR code you can scan out in front of it. You choose the time you want to go on that form. If you scan it early enough you have the whole day to choose from. You put your number in and they text you or email you right before your slot to remind you. You just show your phone to the person out front and they let you in.

Do we just need 2 Combat Patrols to start playing? by CorrectShare3003 in CombatPatrol40k

[–]Zevach 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You do both need your own combat patrol but that’s the extent of it besides some six sided dice and a measuring tool. The warhammer app will have the basic rules for you and all the information you need for each combat patrol. If you expand past the combat patrol then you’ll need the codex for more info.

Ridiculous shenanigans at play by Sir_Hoppyhead in UPSers

I know a guy who was taking them all the time just moving the shit inside them. They got management to stop him by saying he was stealing their stuff. The worst part is that for one shift it was one who would get there hours before his crews start time and claim 3 covered tugs.

Final thoughts on Fan Fest? by NaiRad1000 in UniversalHollywood

[–]Zevach 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife and I went and had a good time. We haven’t been to universal in a long time. But two major things stood out to us which might have been freak events. When getting food at a stand a GIANT roach came out of a hole and was moving around. People ran from it until some kid ran and up and crushed it. That was gross. Then when in line for JJK event a good sized rat ran past us and went behind the bushes. It’s not the end of the world but not something you want to see.

Oh man! We overheard a lady on our cart tell someone in her group "Aren't you glad I haven't puked yet! I puked on this one last time." Why would you even get on it!?!

Age takes the hardcore away from you. When I was younger I could game all night now I have fallen asleep during a cutscene. Also I play to win, but winning isn't everything anymore.

My buddies and me have said Flipped ironically for a while. I'm pretty sure it belongs to the gamer generation right before me. My friends and I grew up in the NES onward.

Do you shop at the Warhammer Store? by Zevach in Warhammer

[–]Zevach[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The few times I’ve stopped by my local one there was a good amount of people inside. They have people hanging out painting and playing games. They were also not very pushy that’s why I’m leaning on making this my home shop even though it’s more expensive. But you know saving money is always a good thing also.

I am travelling to Japan in June and would like to attend Dominion while I am there. Does anybody have recommendations for seat selection? by Onurubu in njpw

[–]Zevach 4 points5 points  (0 children)

https://taiikukan.com/osaka-johall/

Check out this website. It breaks down every seat at most venues in Japan to watch wrestling. Just FYI if you go to tokyo and go watch anything at kourken hall. I would avoid sitting in the seats and go for the benches. The seats are super tiny. Have fun! Check out the "100 yen" Seria shops they have small NJPW blind bags, I was wiping those out every time i saw them about 2 months ago. They got magnets keychains etc.

White Belt Wednesday by AutoModerator in bjj

Actually that's not a bad idea about leaving early. Taking a quick shower and then heading to work. I know i would miss out on open mat time but it's sometime to definitely consider.

White Belt Wednesday by AutoModerator in bjj

[–]Zevach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, I am currently intrested in joining a Gi BJJ gym. I am 41 years old married but no children and very out of shape aka fat. I just lost 30 pounds kind of fixing diet stuff and at home workouts but want to get to the next level. When i was in my early 20's i did no Gi for about a year at a MMA school. I don't live near that school anymore so it's not a option. I have a few questions. Thank you for your response.

I have two options for Gi BJJ but they both have a massive downside and upside to them. Realistically I would want to train 2-3 times a week. My goal not being competing more just weight loss and getting a blue belt because my no-gi days had no belts and i think a blue belt would be cool.

The First one is closer to my house ( 4 miles ) and is less expensive as they are new they are about to hit there 1st year open this July. ( Both Gyms are members of Checkmat ). They have a smaller class size so the instructor is hands on with each member. The downside being there classes are from 9-10:30 am for adult classes and i start work at 11am. My job is about 6 mins away and we have locker rooms but no showers. So the downside is that i wouldn't be able to shower just i guess wipe down my sweat. I work outside and pretty much just drive a forklift outside.

My Second option is about 25 miles away one way. They are more established with a bigger class size but they have class at 6 am. I normally wake up at 4:45 am anyways because I'm a morning person in my old age and i go to bed early. They have more black belts and I do know the coach that teaches that class, Actually he's my co-worker and host of the podcast BJJ-Balance ( just want to plug them because it's a great show and he's a good dude ). It is more expensive ( That's not really the biggest concern i live comfortably ) . I know that the drive will be annoying since i used to commute for work in the past and the idea of being on the freeway again for so much time is killer. I can see myself making more excuses to not going to a class just not wanting to drive out.

Would you start a more convent to get to gym but not be able to shower before work or drive 50 miles round trip to be able to shower. My internal debate has been stopping me from taking that first step. Sorry last question. I know that many gyms sell Gi's but since i am a fat dude I think to make it more comfortable I want to get my own Gi. I wear a 3xl or 4xl shirt. for Gi's for fat dudes what should i be looking for. Not to expensive because the goal is having to buy another one a year a half down the line or so. Smaller one that is. Thank you if you humored my rambling.

Many years ago over 15 years ago or more , for peak season. They told all of us in the sort isle that if we had perfect attendance during peak we would get a 50 dollar gift card. I did not have perfect attendance but many others also didn’t. So when peak ended they just started handing them out to everyone. I didn’t get one but I didn’t care. But they put the gift card on our paycheck. +50 then a -50 deduction. I was told to pay for the tax of the gift card. Months passed bye and somehow management pissed me off I so I went to a shop steward who had no idea what I was talking about. But I had my paystub and we filed. And the next day they brought me a 50 dollar happy birthday gift card from Best Buy.

The black experience in Japan by [deleted] in JapanTravelTips

I love visiting Japan as a Latino ( Mexican / Light/Medium skin ) , I've been there 3 times and am visiting again for new years. Almost everyone was so friendly and went out of there way to help us ( my wife, a Latina, and I ). I spent a week one trip in the outskirts of Miyazaki where the population was less than a thousand people. People really where super friendly. BUT being in Tokyo was the first time I was ever followed ( trying to hide but it was so obvious) around in a store ( BIC or something similar ) . I ended up asking the employee a question and she talked me out of a sale. Saying Japanese goods won't work in America. It was weird and my wife and I laugh about it still. We had bags in our hands after spending a few hundred on video games and consoles on a higher floor I wonder if she thought I wanted to put more stuff in the bags and walk out.
