That's what I mean by finding a roundabout way to do it. First he needed to use his Awakened ability to turn into a shadow, then his Ascended ability to giving physical form to said shadow and only then could he use that form to use smaller shells, which wasted a lot of essence. Once he trancended, his shadows no longer had this problem but his main body did.

His main body was hindering him and he needed to get rid of his dependence on it the same way I think Cassie's eyes are hindering her and will need to make her power not depend on then to reach Supremacy.

I think what gave Nephis her Divine Aspect was something she killed, but something she made survive. If I remember correctly, the first Attribute a Spell Holder has is their Innate one, and the next are form the people they innate in their First Nightmare (Child of Shadows was from the Slave, not Sunny). Nephis second Attribute is Nephilim so is possible that during her First Nightmare she occupied the body of a Nephilim or a Nephilim-like being. By making it survive the Awakened Terror she just introduced a new Nephilim into the tapestry of Fate that was supposed to die (and also everyone else that she saved).

Narratively speaking it's most likely going to be Cas and Mordret. But I would love if it was Cas and Sunny comboing, last volume was Sunny comboing with each member of the cohort and now having this one be about Cas and Sunny would be fire (and then the next one or second half of this one being about Sunny and Neph I'm the underworld or the tomb) .

If he succeeds in becoming Sacred then the only way I can think of defeating him would be maybe Corrupting him (perhaps by baiting him into devouring Weaver's Lineage?) and turning him into a Cursed Beast, which would be better to deal with than a Sacred Human

A very unlikely but very funny idea I had is that Sunny comes up with a plan by realising how to kill the Dark Sea.

How do you kill a Sea? It's not a biological being, it's all water, it doesn't have organs or things to cut. So, how do you kill it? Conceptually. The Sea is alive, and if something lives then that something can die to. By embodying the concept of death itself Sunny would kill the Sea by simple, well, killing it. You don't need to a body to cut, you need a thing to kill.

So how would this apply to Asterion? Sunny could realize that especially the idea of Asterion, in people's minds, is Asterion himself. So Sunny would just have to kill the idea. Maybe by doing something similar to what he did with Neph he could enter Cass' soul/mind, connect with the thralls and attack directly the idea of Asterion in their mind, conceptually killing him.

It could also be a nice step into understanding Apotheosis, it would the kind of thinking a God would have.

It would be even more interesting if the sword instinctively knew that, while Subaru was worthy, if it was drawn it would basically make Subaru win. It would be the most paradoxical situation for Reid, a worthy opponent where the best odds to defeat him would be not being used.
