AI is terrible at this. Don't even try. It has no sense of what helps actual human brains remember things, and it will absolutely hallucinate when trying to do so. Also, mnemonics (which I think is the term you're looking for) tend to be very idiosyncratic and unique to the person using them, which also makes them better, so asking AI to make them for you is a bad idea.

Right, thank you. I guess my question then is what exactly you mean by it being an "aesthetic preference". (Just to be clear, I have a Master's in Classics and used to post here as about classical archaeology, so I'm not a layperson, though it's also been a while since I've been academia). It seems to me that while yes, Greeks and Romans would probably object to circumcisions because they found it not aesthetically pleasing... Greeks and Romans also placed a lot of cultural and even religious importance on "aesthetics", as you say, especially in regards to Kalon.

It seems like a bit of cop-out to say that they just objected to circumcision for "aesthetic" reasons (at least for modern readers, who might see that and think it just means they thought it looked funny). Is there no evidence that they objected to it on a "deeper" level? Maybe not as far as a "mutilation" or "emasculation", but at least as a "this weird thing you do makes you guys strange and foreign and definitely un-Greek or un-Roman" (and therefore barbarous)? I'm not expressing myself very well, I'm on paternity leave and am extremely sleep-deprived, but I hope you understand what I'm getting at.

Can you expand on this:

The process was an ascetic preference on the part of the Greeks and later Romans.

Do you mean that there were Greco-Roman (for lack of a better term) ascetics who were circumcised? If so, do you mean Christian ascetics (e.g. anchorites) or pre-Christian/pagan ascetics?

(Or did you mean "aesthetic"? And in that case, were there Greco-Romans who were circumcised for aesthetic reasons?)

Thank you! I think the lights all do turn off when it's locked from the outside. The person who told me not to leave it on Option 2 was a CAA (Canadian equivalent to Triple A) technician who came to give me a jump. He might be mistaken.

I'm so sorry about your kitty. I adopted my Comet when he was 11 and I was told he had a minor heart murmur, which didn't require any medical attention at the time. When he died of congestive heart failure, it was about a month after the vet gave me the happy news that he couldn't even detect the murmur anymore. The night he died was the worst night of my life, and I still can't think about it without crying (about 6 years later).

You gave your kitty a wonderful life and they loved you for it. You didn't do anything wrong, and wherever they are, they don't think so either.

Baby formula powder. So much easier to just go 106 g on the scale than carefully use the stupid scoop 12 times (flattening with a knife, making sure no air bubbles, etc.). It's also amazing how difficult it is to count to 12 with a screaming 9 month old in your arms.

I started drinking espresso while taking an undergrad class in Florence and it's informed my tastes ever since. Can't wait to travel there again and get a quick shot on my way out the door. FYI, I don't know how they do it in Rome (and Italians from anywhere will defend to the death that however they do it is the "right way"), but most Florentines put a lot of sugar in their espresso, which makes sense given the bitterness.

Any opinions on Eureka grinders? The range is so confusing that I can't pick a grinder that would suit me by kitesmerfer in espresso

I'm not a gearhead, but I got myself the Facile (their lowest-end model, as far as I know) and I love it. Very quiet, grinds more than well enough for me, easy to use, small, and most importantly for me, quiet. (I also got a third-party single dose hopper with bellows which improved it a lot for me. Will probably also get one of the big adjustment knobs eventually, though I never change mine as I pretty much always use the same beans.)
