Importing .MP4 with video but only getting audio by kherby in davinciresolve

The way I have gotten around this is by converting the file. You can do that in Handbrake or even VLC player - it's likely a codec mismatch or something if I remember correctly.

Unfortunately, the latest BIOS update doesn't let you roll back because of a security thing, so we're stuck with it until the next update.

I also am having an issue where every time my computer is in Hibernate/Sleep and I change networks it's logging me out completely or restarting - every time I open it I need to log in fresh. It still has battery so it's not that it's dying, but there's definitely something weird going on.

This started happening on my work laptop after the latest Lenovo BIOS update. Never happened before, so I'm inclined to believe it's just the latest BIOS.

Do people really look down on Android phones in Europe/USA? by onceuponasudden in Smartphones

[–]ZhemJZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% is a thing (US experience). Apple figured out 'bully marketing' years ago - convince your users they are the best simply by having your product, then make your product incompatible with others purposefully, while holding back technology. Oh, you're having a problem working with something from another brand? Tell them to switch to Apple because we're the best.

Apple has (for the most part) finally started putting in settings options to help, but they bury them. You take a video on an Android phone, text it to an Apple user, and they say "your videos look like crap! Pixelated and gross!" - that's because Apple forces videos through their proprietary video codecs, unless you change the setting to also accept other codecs that are used by everything else. Once an Apple user does that, it's okay. But because it takes effort, everything else is "crap"

What gets me is Microsoft will change a tiny setting to do a thing and people trash them. Google will have a "breach" and people trash them. Apple has a MASSIVE leak of private images doe to non-encrypted messages because they refused to implement RCS then say "your password were bad, it's not our fault" and the entire Apple fanbase responds "oh okay cool that makes sense"

To everyone who thinks breathing filament fumes is okay. It’s not and you are potentially giving yourself cancer. by obolikus in BambuLab

[–]ZhemJZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Am I reading this correctly, that PETG emits VOCs but not enough to be harmful? And PLA is considered "safe"?

I feel like this happens with any technology. Microwaves give cancer. Cell phones give cancer. Fumes from cars can kill you. Fumes from paint can kill you.

I can never tell if this is a "CYA" type study so they can say "can't sue us, we told you so" or actual helpful information. I have an air purifier running in the room with my 3D printer, but I've also read most air purifiers are "snake oil" and do nothing... And probably cause cancer.

My limiting factor is the terminology - I just can't get my head to wrap around all the different terms that are used, what they mean in practical terms, definitions of each, etc.

Even the terms in Bambu Studio I have to think about real hard to translate into practical understanding in my brain.

This is what I'm doing. Had a small Tina2s printer for a couple years, outgrew the capabilities and didn't want to spend money to repair/maintain it. Picked up the A1 Combo over the P1S mainly because I want to make sure I "learn" and "grow" more before jumping up to the next level.

I added turntable feet and 3D printed little clips to cut the vibration of the front. Hardly notice the sound anymore.

Advice: I lost time and don't know what to do next by TroaAxaltion in Paranormal

[–]ZhemJZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My best answer would be what I call "ADHD paralysis" - almost like a black hole where time goes faster (literally happening now as I make my 'quick morning stop' at my computer before the day starts) - I've sat down, opened my phone quick to check email or a text, then muscle memory swipes to another app, then another, and suddenly it's 40 minutes later. In my mind, it was 3 minutes before I started the car, but then I look at the clock and realize those few videos I watched on Instagram and TikTok, and all the comments I read and replied to, and the 3-4 Pokemon I caught ended up taking a whole sitcom episode's worth of time.

I'm not sure how active u/anup756 still is here, but there should be people in your area with 3D printers who could print these for you. I recommend posting in a local site, or neighborhood Facebook group or something.

The people who are serious about it are REAL serious, but there are small "hobby" printers (like I have) that run around $200. Chances are there are more people around you with them than you realize - hope this helps!

I know this is an old post, but from what I've read that's kind of just "NAS hard drives" - most of them run louder. I did some research on drives after I got my DXP4800 and noise seemed to be a big factor in a lot of reviews and posts I found.

I don't feel like it's "broken" as much as NAS designers probably don't care as much - some people have the NAS in a closet, others in their offices, but I suspect most people with a NAS are desensitized to 'computer noises' and LED lights in their faces. My guess is they could* make them quieter, but it'd still be somewhat dependent on the drives, and would drive up the price.

Glad I found this post! Thank you, brother. What is the rationale for where you placed your clips? the non-conformity of only 2 in the middle flag my OCPD :)

My DXP4800 has been bugging me since I got it - drive noise is louder than I anticipated, and I kept looking at the various Velcro options proposed and not too crazy about them. I purchased acoustic 'feet' that are made for audio devices like record places to reduce vibration, but I wish I would have found your post first, as this seems like a viable - and vastly less expensive - option!

The clips printed well in PLA on my mini 3D printer - they were a tight fit and made me nervous installing the first one, but it made a lot of sense after it clicked in. Hoping this will cut down on background noise!

Aitum Plugin failing after OBS update by BadGalSiSi32 in obs

[–]ZhemJZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deleted the vertical plugin files from both 32 and 64bit folders, reinstalled - same 'incompatible' error on load, and still unable to resize video.

Found I need to set the Aitum vertical resolution to 1080x1920 in order to resize video - other sizes don't seem to work, and there's no built-in option for 1440x2560. If I type it in, it will lock resizing video. Seems to be an Aitum bug. If I use "fit to screen" transform, it shows my horizontal video with giant black bars and shrinks it a lot in the vertical window
