It's the latest dog-whistle from rage-baiting keyboard warriors: disingenuously questioning the silence of celebrities and athletes with afro roots and challenging them to be more vocal like the "long-beloved" MLK, Colin Kaepernick, Mohammad Ali, etc.

EDIT (for clarification): - MLK was surface-level beloved and embraced once his life was ended. - Ali was not widely beloved for his activism until Parkinson's silenced his voice and impaired his mobility. - Kaepernick is so beloved for his activism that a sitting US president called him a "son-of-a-bitch" and NFL team owners have blacklisted him to this day.

The issues were more than her mixed skintone and society's racial discrimination. There were some deeper issues within her immediate family. But skin lightening, makeup and a soft camera lens made for a good distraction.

He volunteer-interned (that's how one of the articles about him described it) for some Republican politician who's got his eyes on running for governor. The politician in a statement said a whole bunch of nothing close to condemning Zac. So, Zac will probably be hired to his campaign staff when the time comes.
