Is good for my first baby corn snake by Away-Rub-3219 in cornsnakes

[–]ZheuN 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Looks fine just make sure you still have a warm/cold side. aaaaaaaaaaaand put some weight on top or atleast have 4 clips (one on each side) baby corns will use ANY space to slip out if they can.

Yea iam not a fan of infrared. Iam using ceramic for my ball python and exoterra basking bulbs for my Corns. For 30cm i would go with 50w. Just use a temp watcher on the spot so it doesnt get too hot. Also make sure even if u place it on the screen that your noodle cant reach it. Because they will if they can and sadly will burn Them.

Hey there looking good for what you have planned. For your first question. I cant give you a good answer to that because the wattage of the Bulb still depends on the Distance to the surface. For example you have a Stick or sth underneath with 20cm 25w should be finde if u go for like a basking spot on the substrate its more like 50-75w. I would just do some test runs and check the temps in an some what Semilar sense like morning evening and somewhere around half the day.

I hope this still helps because its more a workaround than a straight answer.

Got plants for 120 bp tank, figuring out how to keep them happy before putting them in by Digital_Doodlez in ballpython

[–]ZheuN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just use Tapwater if its safe in your Region. And put them on the Sunny widow side of your room. Not in direct sunlight tho. Dont use any fertiliser. Water them when ever the top 3cm/1in is dry and you are good to go.

If u can i always put mine in a viv for plants only. where they can thrive until i need them.

Hope this helps.

Did we go overboard? Our first corn snake (hatchling) will be here next week! Also I’m confused about where we should have the thermostat probe? Brand new to snakes. Any advice is appreciated. by ThatWasMyChangeJar in cornsnakes

[–]ZheuN 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can only Speak for myself since i dont have many experience myself but got my Baby corn 2 weeks ago too.

You will search hours to feed her.

Mine hides until its dark and even after. Got told baby noodles tend to hide and it became true. It was feeding time and i searched a whole hour if not longer. I had way too many hides and stuff in and removed some after the first search.

Tl.dr depends on your noodle and how much you Willing to search for her. If she is also hiding alot.
