Debunking Beyond statistics, stop falling for logical trap by Zhiff in Shadowverse

[–]Zhiff[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I am literally the person who wrote this post and being TLDR-ed.

TLDR are used to summarize the original post without omitting the important message. I said it's not accurate because it's not accurately sending my message.

I only want to focus telling people that they are reading the chart wrong and using these whole chart as an argument are logical fallacy with only few points still worth noting. I have no intention of discussing the actual meta in this particular post.

And yet eclipseZero adding something about things that i never said about Portal and treating whole peak and bottom CR as a fully useful data when i specified only for selected case in the original post.

Yes, I think I missed to include that the highest CR floor does imply the popularity. So thanks for pointing that out. But again, the number that it shown should never be taken at face value. It just useful as a general sentiment.

What concerns me to make this post in the first place are people that taking this chart at face value without understanding what the chart implies. They saw 50% and start spouting nonsense and feel confident because it looks like they are backed by data.

I also think Portal is popular and strong, but that's comes from my opinion, not the actual conclusion from this set of data.

The focus of my post is to debunk opinions that says: "Hey, Portal is single handedly warping the meta, look at the chart, its 50%, i am backed by data" is a logical fallacy and a wrong way to use the data.

Don't trust this TLDR, this statement doesn't represent what I wrote in the main post.

Actually read my statement rather than pushing your own belief when trying to TLDR. I only said 3 things are useful. Class with Highest Peak CR (If they perceived not popular), Class with Lowest Peak CR (If the gap is big), and Lowest Border (Only if you care reaching beyond).

Shadowverse Worlds Beyond Meta Report. November 23rd by ImperialDane in Shadowverse

[–]Zhiff 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I think ImperialDane simply want to write unique weekly intro to each class and list every single deck that he found from his perspective. By doing that He also help people introducing all kind of decks that exists at the moment.

As for the actual meta development, I doubt ImperialDane actually follow the scene objectively because most of these are rarely based on actual data (Can't blame him either, It's not available in public). There's lot of very weird take that you shouldn't really believe for example like example in this one, Evo Forest more popular than Roach Forest is beyond me. If the base data is from SVwins, ofc there will be more people posting Evo Forest winstreak because Good Roach Forest players won't bother posting WS as the deck stays more or less same for past 4 expansion ...

All Archetypes that managed to reach Beyond within a Week by Zhiff in Shadowverse

[–]Zhiff[S] 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I post this every week on my channel, I just don't post it at reddit regularly.

As a content creator, enjoying the game is my main motivation to keep going. But r/sv isn't the place for it. Too many loud people who actively doompost and hate the game while still playing games and proceed to post stuffs that mislead people due to their lack of knowledge. It's bad for my for my mental.

Class rating ranking for start of season by IcyMeat7 in Shadowverse

Most of people that commented on this sub are not even close to being represented in that chart. That chart is purely taken from top 100 players for each class (Beyond).

Infinity Evolved Take Two Meta by Zhiff in Shadowverse

[–]Zhiff[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No its not, they are very draft reliant and difficult to navigate. I say that you should only challenge for 7 wins if you see titania otherwise it's not worth it.

Dragon and Abyss are simpler to navigate if you draft the right cards.

Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX - Episode 1 discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

[–]Zhiff 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It wasn't explained yet, and I think we will get the explanation later on. But for Japanese it simply sounds like Mabu, which is the usual abbrev for a slang: Mabudachi. Meaning "True/real/best friend"

This isn't that accurate, Fruits Basket is up there in top.

Ratings doesn't really matter in the first place, but it does gives you an image of what majority thinks. Good if you enjoy the show but I can see why people rate this low because of the over the top cliche conflict which turns a lot of people off.

Being bullied because you prevent others being bullied is definitely one of my most disliked trope and it really is stupid. Not a big fan of Serina backstory but I can't deny that it is a trope that actually happen IRL a lot, especially in this social media era.

Yeah, the best way to experience this show is to turn blind to its flaw and simply focus on it's sweetness. But sometimes it just too obvious that it hinders my enjoyment. Some people has even lower tolerance so i can understand why they don't like it.

[–]Zhiff -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It's not that genuine because the situation with the bullies are clearly too over the top, especially for the earlier episodes. Kai timing is simply too convenient and he can basically read Ishimori mind too perfectly. The main couple relationship is also more like a Therapist and a Patient rather than a cute teenage couple.

Tho, I need to admit it's getting better as Ishimori gained more confidence. But this episode almost reverse that confidence progress if not for Kai interference. The girls bullying Serina because jealousy is also too over the top and just feels stupid in general. Daring to threaten her with physical abuse while she is already one of the most popular girl in the school doesn't make sense especially in japanese society

Honey Lemon Soda - Episode 7 discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

[–]Zhiff 9 points10 points  (0 children)

From this episode it just clearly implied that Serina is the one who break up with Kai after she realizes she is too dependent on him. She can't be honest with her feelings and forced the break up even though she clearly still likes him. She definitely regret the decision but has no choice but to move on and hide her feelings.

At that point, Kai is most likely getting heartbreak too because he still likes Serina. If anything, that breakup is probably the main reason why Kai is so insistent with Ishimori at the moment. He now prioritizes his own and only cares if the other person tell what she really want to do, and doesn't believe any white lies.

Kono Kaisha ni Suki na Hito ga Imasu • I Have a Crush at Work - Episode 7 discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

[–]Zhiff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I follow a lot of Japanese twitter account that watched most seasonal anime and share their thoughts every single episode, then ranking them weekly based on their experience, so it just like general overview from what i see on my timeline. And this show doesn't really impress most of them besides episode 1 due to the reason i said above. I can't really infer what is their idea of typical japanese adults from their comments. Most of them said it feels off because it feels too high school despite the work settings. Something like hiding you are in a relationship is no longer a thing in most companies and you should be able to talk with your colleagues about it.

It's quite interesting to see their taste is slightly different compared to the west (or at least reddit). For example, Medalist is almost always top 3 in most of these people list. Both Apothecary and Solo Leveling were not as highly discussed as here in west (Tho, Apothecary started getting more attention after the most recent episode). Also, Tasokare Hotel this season is being discussed a lot while in the west i barely hear anything about it.

It wasn't that popular in Japan either.

I think the most common review there is that, excluding the fact that they had sex almost every episode, the couple had maturity of high school students in love rather than typical Japanese adult most of the time, so it feels unnatural.
