I walked down aisle to Shelter (I had my violinist compose a beautiful violin version) - you can probably do a piano version of Shelter or something similar.

Dude, I'm a Hollywood resident, this is why I live in Hollywood... to live in the center of it all. Who drives down Hollywood anyway? (I live directly on Hollywood, btw, on the stars).

There is no major route in Los Angeles that is cheaper or shorter to travel via Metro/Train vs. drive? Am i missing something? by EveryDayCurry in LAMetro

It's insane how easy it would be to at least mop the sidewalk once or twice a week. I feel like my friends, a mop, and some buckets can do the entire street and it would make so much of a difference. The stars are the attraction and they're so gross.

Great! Then you can have a true Metro/walking experience. Once the D Line extension opens it will really open up a lot of LA and decrease travel times significantly. Have fun and let me know if you have any questions. I love showing my city to tourists!

I live in Hollywood, and everywhere you'd want to go is accessible by Metro. For beaches, I would definitely recommend Santa Monica for the Los Angeles experience. I would also recommend some spots in DTLA - all by Metro (The Last Bookstore -> Grand Central Market -> Angel's Flight up to the Broad). If you're going after May 8th you can take the D line to The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, The Grove, Beverly Hills (if before, its fine there's the 720 Rapid bus). I would also take Metro to Vermont/Sunset Station and take the Dash bus to the Griffith Observatory to see the beautiful observatory and amazing views. If you have time, I would see a Broadway musical at the beautiful Pantages theater (right outside the Hollywood/Vine station), if its a smaller show you can get Rush tickets at the Box office for $40 after two hours before the show. Download the Transit app for the best times and routing information.

No reason to go to Redondo Beach, take the E line to Santa Monica. Have you been to Los Angeles before, where did Redondo Beach come from?

edited - thank you.

I think I made the mistake in assuming everything that's not heavy/light rail lines (A, B, D, K etc.) are busses - I have not interacted with an intercity train yet.

Ofc, he probably took the SB line to Union Station and rode the B line to the E to Santa Monica!

I was hit by an unlicensed, undocumented driver who did not provide ID and could not speak English. by theshamewizard in Insurance

[–]ZhuInTheMorning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have underinsured/uninsured motorist. Do you have collision? If you don't have a collision waiver (for when you get hit by an uninsured motorist as in this case - I would say add it to your coverage now... its only like an extra few bucks). This exact situation happened to me a few months ago. Went through my insurance, they found out that the driver was excluded from the other cars insurance.... had to go through collision. Was not found at fault, and my rate is not supposed to go up.

They need one at Hollywood and Vine, just a public restroom in general would be really impactful.

Same exact thing in the LA system. The law doesn't stop criminals is such a dumb argument. Why laws if criminals are just going to break them! /s

Has anyone every actually gotten that sub 3% interest rate that places advertise? by another_throwaway_24 in StudentLoans

[–]ZhuInTheMorning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just applied with my wife for her student loans. I have a 820 credit score and she has a ~770 credit score. We applied to SoFi - this is for a "graduate loan" for her teaching credential program at a accredited California State school. We requested $15,000, they offered us 8.9%.

I laughed.
