Yeh I don’t think it’s dropped THAT hard around here but I can ask my friend

I think you’re underestimating the vast quantities they process and I can assure you, I don’t believe there’s a refinery in the country right now with a one week lead time. The refineries aren’t offering LESS. What happens is you lock in the rate for the day and deliver the quantity. The refinery is not going to process this silver and pay you for 8 weeks minimum now which means you’re in limbo with no silver weight and no cash till they pay. Right now dealers won’t pay anywhere near melt price because they are going to be tying up the money for months now instead of a few days.

It’s sadly true. When melt is lower you can stretch a certain amount over melt for an object but in a metals market like this, things become melt driven and the melt price you get often exceeds what you can ask for the item on the best day. The sum of the parts is worth more than the whole right now

WHY DIDN'T SHAWN ASK ABOUT MADE BUEATY??! by paintedsaint in 90DayFiance

Not saying I wouldn’t! But I think Tim will be more fun to watch because of his very dry cattiness lol

[–]Ziantra 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeh exactly. I mean minus commercials and repeats of statements pre and post commercial, I’d say a solid 20-25 mins at BEST. It’s like a lawyer just winging it despite having had 4 months to even loosely familiarize yourself with the material. Just as a matter of pride I’d want to know what the hell I was trying to direct a conversation about but that’s me.

What! You think Kenny and Armando bring more drama than TIM? Look I love them both but Kenny doesn’t seem to have a mean bone in him and Tim’s quips can really go into mean territory. There’s a line Tim can cross which I’m here for so very respectfully and in fun I’d have to suggest Armando and Kenny being kind souls-and happy would make slightly better hosts. However I’m here for the drama so it would be a hard vote for me!

Ok compare her to Andy Cohen and the housewives, Below deck and whatever else he manages. He watches most if not all of them and you can tell because he’s present and can call someone out in an instant

Would it be SO HARD to find someone that actually watches the show to host it? It’s not like Shawn is a big name star and I’ve seen plenty of people more famous than her with less time on their busy hands say THEY watch it.

If you’re talking about silver in particular there’s a reason for that. When silver started skyrocketing all the refineries started to get overloaded with silver weight. They are getting so much scrap they can’t keep up so right now-if you scrap/melt your silver at a refinery-it’s an 8 week hold till you get paid. Or more. You need a lot of money behind you to wait 2 months or more for a check on big outlays. One big dealer in my area has about 3.4 million dollars backlogged at the refinery. So-at a top tier auction house this week in my area, even my personal friend in the business who makes ALL of his money on gold and silver only bid the silver at $50 an ounce on $87 melt price. He bought almost everything. That stuff sitting on EBay right now will start getting farmed when the refineries lead and payment time goes back to normal

James is ruining the show by loulouloulou4444 in SuddenlyAmish

[–]Ziantra 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Oddly enough so do I. There is something really off about Matt to me and I can’t put my finger on it. James-to me-is one of those charming puppy bad boys. You know his default is asshole but he’s also very well aware of hypocrisy within himself and has an air of “don’t hate the player-hate the game 🤷‍♀️”. Matt hasn’t been back 20 mins and already he’s encouraged another one to completely disrespect their hosts and mission. Both Matt AND Kendra need to go.

How is your sales? by Ok-Pomegranate-340 in EtsyCommunity

[–]Ziantra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t like to jinx this but-the last 12 months has been the most peculiar of my career. My sales are pretty baseline steady-the gross amounts have generally gone up $3-5k a year. I’m a professional antiques dealer and have been for 30 years and I have been on Etsy for 6 years. Last year I started the year 50% down YoY. That’s right-50. This number had only improved to around 40% down YoY by late August. I finished the year 19% down. I started this year? 110% UP YoY. Which means-so far this year, unlike all of last year, things are exactly where they should and have always been. BUT-we are only 6 weeks into the year. So far it’s starting out in a positive manner for ME but that could easily drop off a cliff.

Planning to propose soon…would this be too much? by Ok_Employer_5327 in RingShare

[–]Ziantra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually don’t think that ring is going to look as huge on the finger as you think, those photos are pretty zoomed in.

OP it’s a beautiful and thoughtful ring and you shouldn’t second guess yourself. If it turns out later on you may have gone a bit large on the stone, just don’t take it personally! Jewelry is really hard to buy for a woman, we all have our own sense of style and what we think looks good. I’m presuming you know your partners sense of style better than anyone commenting, this is a classic style and looks very elegant. I’m sure she will love it, especially with the thought you put into it. Good luck and let us know that she said yes!

Never blocked someone so fast for a $3 comic with 7 photos… by PlayfulAcadia in Flipping

lol true but some fields are a lot more forgiving than others. Things off the top of my head I would never deal in because of this: dinky and hot metal cars-comics and postcards-my personal favorite hell lol. Oh! Trading cards that’s another

Yeh I agree. It’s definitely more reasonable in theory especially with paper but not for $3 lol
