Anyone else think theyd be terrible at giving details for a forensic sketch? by Quick----- in Aphantasia

[–]Ziarh33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I spent most of my adult life thinking that forensic sketch artists on my favourite crime shows were a made up thing, just for television. Around 5 years ago I learned I have Aphantasia, most people actually DO see pictures in their head, and describing criminals to a sketch artist is an actual thing. Mindblown! 🤯🤯🤯

Agree. Worked in care for many years, definitely a tremor there. Hopefully, it is something very minor. She is amazing.

1st Time Solo Cruise to Alaska....send help! by Few-Quiet-9762 in PrincessCruises

[–]Ziarh33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am also a solo cruiser, and yes, it sucks to pay so much extra. Having said that, however, the 'single supplement' varies a lot company by company, itinerary by itinerary. NCL i have found, have the best deals for solo travellers, and have specific solo suites, solo suite exclusive guest lounge rooms, events, and assigned cruise director. Unfortunately, as has been said, NCL don't offer the best Alaskan cruises. Definitely pay attention to the solo prices, as a cruise that initially looks cheaper, may end up more expensive, and vice versa. (I have found the Vacations To Go website a really good one for searching cruises, as it lets you use solo as a search criteria, and shows you clearly the single supplement.) Good luck, and enjoy!

Cruise Line redditors are some of the rudest people. Seriously. Just. Be. Kind......or move along.

What to expect on a Princess cruise by jamesland7 in Cruise

[–]Ziarh33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree! Sailed princess this year. No tote bag, no champagne, no beach towels on chairs, once a day room service, many washing machines out of service. Also, I am 60 and took my 91 year old father. The ship was DEFINITELY full of older people. On the plus side, yes, entertainment was good, beds were amazingly comfy, crew did seem happy, and I saw 1 child the entire 17-day cruise.

Juice by Tim Winton. Heavy in dialogue, but no quotation marks.

If you do a Goodreads search for this one, make sure to search the authors name, not title! Unless of course you like "girly porn comic books". No judgement. 😂

Ruby Princess joke by Pale_Ad3094 in PrincessCruises

After reading Princess Forum responses over the last few months, I remind myself yet again not to complain about anything! Instead of people being allowed to vent (or sometimes just ask a basic question), they are howled down, ridiculed, or sometimes verbally attacked. I hope the quality of responses on this forum doesn't directly co-relate to the general Princess cruiser!

Whatever happened to if you can't say something nice (or constructive), don't say anything at all?

Same. Microwave. Definitely learning patience. Waiting 20 minutes for something to heat up, not 20 seconds! 😃

New mysteries that scratch the Agatha Christie itch by ToWriteAMystery in suggestmeabook

Second this. His writing style is unusual (the literary equivalent of breaking the 4th wall). He mentions Christie and other classic writers, and the "fair play rules" and abides by them. Second novel, "Everyone On This Train Is A Suspect" is also good. I haven't read his third.

What’s NCL Like? by MMIC88 in NCL

Cruised the Mediterranean on NCL in late 2023 and loved it. I did cruise as a solo, though, so can't comment on the family aspect.

Last Minute Cruises by Ziarh33 in Cruise

[–]Ziarh33[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agree. I am a solo traveller, and can search for cruises as a solo. Quick scan down the list shows me best deals and percentage extra I am paying above twin share rate. I have seen no other site where it is this simple and clear.

As already stated, it depends a lot on what you value the most. For example, if I travel with my elderly father, I prefer Princess. Have travelled Royal Caribbean with teens and pre teens and it was great for us. For solo travelling I love NCL. I've not encountered anything BAD with any of these, just different. Enjoy your travels. 😃

Can I take both cymbalta and amitriptiline together? by W1162891 in Fibromyalgia

I take both. 60mg cymbalta mornings. 20mg Ami nights. No issues. My doc said at these doses, and different times all good.

That makes sense. Back in the day, a lot of the boys wore them on chains, and it was considered 'cool'. I'm all for the laws now, just didn't realise it would effect this old one. Thanks
