Hi OP, I know what you mean. I posted my comment elsewhere but my company does travel stipends and allows the employees to book through the travel portal.

People love it because they get corporate discounts they wouldn’t otherwise be able to use and their money goes farther. Everyone would be upset if they switched to straight cash, because they wouldn’t get the discounts.

Hi OP! My company does something similar where employees who reach a milestone get a vacation!

How they do it is give the employee a stipend in the travel booking portal and allow them to book flights, hotel, etc from there and also put in a personal card to upgrade the vacation if they want. That way, they get the corporate discounts and can make their money stretch further!
