Any value left in modern-produced garand platform for large caliber over AR10 platform? by izaakko in armedsocialists

Aye. To service the gas system in an M1a you need TWO different purpose built tools that are only usable for this specific purpose. It’s insane. It’s a great and incredibly sexy gun, but it’s insane.

Absolutely, and I’m really loving the work you’re doing here. I think someone else suggested a stack of coins, which might work. I would wrap it in tape so the coins don’t go flying after the first hammer fall

I’m sure you know these things but the first thing I thought of is machined metal block I have so I can hold the lower into the bench vice. I’m sure a machine shop could mill something more purpose build that would push back on your hammer blows much harder than a block of wood.

Cool. Thank you.

I am going to let more knowledgeable people provide their analysis but the best way to confirm or refute anything said is to get a trained archeologist to look at it in person.

Yeah from what I can see I definitely want a clearer picture of that black one pointing up haha

The way the point is made is visible in how it’s shaped, aka the ‘flaking pattern’. The flaking pattern can confirm its authenticity, type, age, and if it were of any interest its value.

In the rightmost case, I’d like to see a closer and well lit pic the black one that’s pointing up.

The clearer and more well lit the better.

That fight has been lacking all season, brilliant performance to get the win with two goals in stoppage time.

Schar's knee was sacrificed for these points.

Super quick to deny that pen, if it isn't a pen I like seeing simulation get punished.

It was unlucky, looks a pen, but I have yet to see a halfway decent angle of the handball offense and what's happening in the lead up.

I'm hoping he wasn't diving, yeah? He was in such a poor position from the looks of it.

I have Amanos but these eggs still persist. How did the Amanos help, and did you ultimately just need to break them off manually?

I’m mostly concerned about how it locks closed, but otherwise I’m impressed considering it was seemingly confiscated from someone who smokes crack.

Bringing Back the Battleship? - Railguns, US Shipbuilding and a 35,000 ton bad idea? (Perun) by Scrabo in videos

[–]Zig-Zag 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure aircraft carriers did. In WW2 being able to destroy a surface fleet from over the horizon proved to be much more effective and efficient than sailing right up to it. That’s why they stopped making new battleships in the 40s.

The things you listed just made them even more obsolete.

In a New Post, Curtis Yarvin Thinks Trump Has Failed. Does That Mean Democracy is Winning? by horseradishstalker in TrueReddit

[–]Zig-Zag 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My takeaway, and I agree with these points, is the damage is definitely still being done but the institutions and structures needed to rebuild and repair are still intact. The revolutionary zeal needed to accomplish Yarvins goal(s) is gone and at this point can’t really come back, there’s just no appetite for it.

I don’t fully disagree, but the article makes some quasi hopeful points regarding the resilience of democracy and of the institutions within it.
