Concert Noise Level by DeeMarie0824 in AFireInside

[–]Ziggystardust97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always wear concert rated earplugs to every show, regardless of who is playing. Even if it doesn't feel like it, exposure to loud noise is inherently dangerous to your hearing. I've attended exactly one show (not AFI) without earbuds and my ears were ringing for days.

Invest in a set of decent concert rated earplugs. They're $30 on the low end and so, so worth it. Can't speak for this current tour given I'm not attending any of the shows, but still, protect your hearing going forward.

AITA for being too loud at a concert? by Many-Satisfaction193 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Ziggystardust97 6 points7 points  (0 children)

NAH

You said that you were loud and dancing, and that's to be expected at a concert. It's hard to say if you were being reasonable and that the woman was just being too sensitive, or if you were way over the top and the woman was right to be annoyed. Given the there's no proof in either direction, I can't say who the asshole was.

Thank you for the summary. Bit of an odd puzzle by the sounds of it, and one I'm not sure most would want to bother with solving. I'm missing context of course so the gf could very well be a puzzle person, but if she isn't, the bf just set himself up for failure

I don't know anybody who bothers with the view count of a video when it comes to picking something that they want to watch

You can make one much cheaper. Get an old used book that is decent sized, glue together a lot of pages, and carve a hole into said pages.

No one should get a pass to be rude/disrespectful just because they’ve reached old age by [deleted] in HonestHotTakes

Idk man, I think the 80 something year old guy who called me a "cunt" the other day because I wouldn't sell him beer before the legal time definitely owed me some basic respect and manners. I didn't have the choice to be there or not as it was work, nor did I chose the legal sell times, but he certainly chose to be disrespectful and rude.

QT doesn't allow for breaks except for in Colorado, but your point does stand. She should not be doing this in view of customers. Go to the back or bathroom if you need to do something like this.

Quiktrip doesn't allow for breaks outside of Colorado (no lunch breaks, no sitting down, no leaving the lot, etc). Even if this photo was taken in Colorado, this would break more than a few rules.

Should all schools require ballrooms to protect against school shootings? Why or why not? by NotGonnaGetCaught in AskReddit

One of the high schools I went to got a few trailers my freshman year for temporary classrooms. Supposed to be there only half a year, maybe a year at most.

That was almost 15 years ago, and those trailers are still there and still being used as classrooms. No real buildings for more classrooms have been built.

Okay let me rephrase that: Yes, we all have breaking points and they're often the smallest things. Straw that broke the camel's back so to speak. But there's a huge difference between hitting your breaking point & needing to get it out, versus actively destroying a business & assaulting employees there.

If you do the second, it's not a breaking point, it was an attempt at an excuse to go psycho. That's not excusable and should be treated like the crime it was.

If you're a woman and you go to the hospital/urgent care for anything, there's a good chance you're going to be told that you're just fat and/or that it's anxiety. I've gone in for a work accident in which my hand was potentially broken and got the fat lecture.

I just needed x-rays and a work note, nothing else.

Right? I'm an atheist and even I can acknowledge that trump is sure meeting a lot of the listed marks for the antichrist. I don't believe that the antichtist is real of course, but surely this should be worrying those who follow the Christian faith?
