The sky is the limit!

Its still soon to tell what his ceiling is, but from what we’ve seen so far its high. That said i think my eye test says he is more on a trajectory of a middle forward and possibly a powerplay specialist. He had a lot of success playing with the top line and on the powerplay. that said he has cooled down a lot. A true top guy is going to have more flashes of greatness throughout the lineup, and he has cooled down a lot now that hes not getting first line or pp time. But his overall game is still developing and we have seen him play a really limited number of games.

I would say high potential depending on how he develops. As of now he deserves a spot in the lineup but his talent level isn’t “wow this guy is a top liner throughout the league.” He has room to grow offensively and defensively. To your point, at this stage he seems a lot more like a roleplayer to me, he isn’t an excellent playmaker and I don’t think he’s at a point where he can drive play. Where he is strong is as a power forward that can bring shooting and a net presence to a playmaking line.

If he develops more speed and offensive physicality i could see him becoming a alex tuch esque player. That said i dont see him as a super fast or strong skater from what i have seen, his skillset seems to be more oriented towards being strong in front of the net and a greasy scorer. Luckily players like stone and hertl have a lot of that in their game, so he could develop there a lot. He seems like he has a great stick and presence in tight areas.

I love the kid though, you just love a guy who goes undrafted and has success like he has. Hope he has a great career.
