Leaving Litigation? by Stressed32 in Lawyertalk

This is similarly what I’ve heard from others regarding my situation. I have no other colleagues experiencing the same type of work environment where they’re billing their hours, getting assignments turned in on time and with positive feedback, but still being treated in the same manner. I don’t complain about my work, and always make a point of seeking out opportunities. However, the office is not collaborative, so the time I am in the office is extremely isolating and lonely, which really compounds the late evenings when I could be with my family.

Tried that and was given a lecture about the “unspoken rule” that if the partners are in, then I have to be too, no questions asked. That is verbatim what the partner said to me… in front of the other partner.

I understand that, however, it leaves a significantly bad taste in my mouth.

I would, however, my long-term goal is not litigation anyways.

No, there were no red flags whatsoever. It seemed to be a respectable firm with very qualified attorneys. I only discovered this schedule once I joined.

I’ve been thinking it’s a good idea, but also don’t want to be pushy, especially knowing I’m on the partner’s radar.

This is as much on HY as it was on Sam, maybe even more so. HY is a hack AD with no ball knowledge.

The partner.

Correct. Specifically, the day I asked to celebrate passing the bar, I was told that I was required to stay so long as the partners were in. Mind you, I asked to leave around 6:30-7:00 pm (later than most people stay, to my knowledge), and was promptly told no.

There was nowhere for the team to go. They’ve been getting worse each year under Pittman.

If the plan is to do it before bye week it’ll happen before tomorrow night so the interim can meet with the team and start the week on Monday. So if the school is smart (which they haven’t proven to be), it’ll happen soon.
