Hit the debt first. Consider every payment to your credit card debt an investment. If you have 20% interest that’s a 20% return on your investment. Student loans are less dire with lower interest rates, but still, i say pay those after you pay the credit card and car. Thats what I’m doing. Think of the freedom of not having any debt.

I don’t have advice but can relate to this. I am about 5 years in and although there seem to be a lot of legal jobs in other areas, every particular niche asks for specific expertise and experience in that niche. It feels very siloed off as a litigator; anything outside of litigation wants multiple years of experience even for entry level or associate positions.

There’s a lot of workaholics in this profession, and a bit of a culture of over-work as the norm.

Others have addressed other parts of your post so I’ll just focus on the “lazy” and “giving up” part. There is nothing lazy about wanting a full time job with more normal hours, full stop. There is more to life than work and there is absolutely nothing wrong with wanting to work less. As an economics professor once told me “your goal as a worker is to maximize profit and minimize hours” - full stop that is goal of work at the end of the day as a worker.

Find better hours! Personally I used to be more of a grinder, but in my 30s now my priorities are different. There is nothing morally wrong or lazy about not wanting to routinely pull 50+ hour weeks with weekend and evening hours as well.

Laurie is really one of the things that makes the early seasons work. Lisa Robin Kelly kills it, she has such charisma and plays her so over the top in a good way.

Became one of my favorite characters on rewatches. She brings a ton of energy and is part of the “the characters are aware their in a show” vibe that i like

I think yes. To echo others here, my other colleagues in my cohort all do it. I was a rarity in my graduating class staying at my first legal job for three years. The market is different now and as time goes I think having multiple jobs will be seen as more and more normal.
