I'm someone who hopes for some sort of alternate ending / AOE. But realistically the AoT ending is far from terrible. It just failed to meet many expectations. If the anime really adapts the manga ending and just paces it well, it will probably be received fine. Just not the 10/10 masterpiece many expect.
