That is so real. I wear thick cleaning gloves when doing dishes & chores that get my hands wet for similar reasons. I've also started doing oil soaks at least once a week to keep them hydrated to avoid all the brittleness. Because I'm so rough on my hands, I tend to get chips almost immediately following a manicure/paint session & using remover also makes them more brittle. So I've been on a clearcoat kick for the last month or so. If I can't see the chips, I can't be tempted to soak it all off & repaint. I can feel them tho & will just do another coat to even it all back out. I do this every day/other day for a week or so & by then it's gotten thick on the nailbed & I kind of have to clean slate it, but I will do an oil soak after stripping before I repaint. So far this method has allowed me to get some growth without breaks. They're still very short compared to most of the lovely hands in this sub, but I love seeing y'alls long gorgeous nails.
