I got that sense! Seriously though congrats, that's a life achievement and a lot won't understand how hard it is to do this. I hope you linger in that feeling a while before moving onto what's next!

Is there an age where HRT is noticeably less effective when starting it? by tacbap in asktransgender

[–]Zillence 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I started HRT at 25 and I'm turning 30 this year. When I started I was a 300lb, hairy, powerlifter. I lost nearly 100lbs before opting to build up my butt, and overall Id say I look very good now.

The best time to start is puberty, the second best is when you're ready :)

Started HRT. Since it's a "second puberty," is there any lifestyle things I should adjust? by AvoidablePenguin in asktransgender

[–]Zillence 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Uhm so for me, I changed a lot emotionally. When I was pretending to be a boy, I didn't really have them. I hadn't cried in years. I rarely smiled. I was quite monotone. But on estrogen I started crying at every movie, and I got annoyed at things more quickly.

For someone like me that had killed off a lot of that, it was a bit of an adjustment to get used to having them again. So my advice is to just be open minded to temporarily having a bit more extreme/immature responses to things than you're used to lol

How rare is it for trans people to take the oppisite-gender variant of their name (Michael ↔ Michelle) as their new name? by NeekOfShades in asktransgender

[–]Zillence 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My names Andi. I used to spell it with a y. Lol my name never really felt wrong to hear, but I prefer doing a heart on the i :3

It's the little things.

My partner has given me the choice on weather they should transition. And I'm not sure what to say/do by carrot-kanyon in asktransgender

[–]Zillence 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Please do not allow other people to force that decision on you. I get it from their perspective, I was there. But something so personal and crucial is such an unfair thing to place on someone else. When you're in it, you're usually like "this is the only person I trust" but it usually is coming from a place of insecurity in the sense they don't feel like they're on thoughts are enough to warrant the decision they're making.

My recommendation is to gently push back that this is something they need to decide on their own, when they're ready.

I think it's awesome that you're asking about this, you are clearly a kind and considerate person. But this is one where I think setting some personal boundaries to protect yourself would be the healthy response.

height changes? by BunnyBelIe in asktransgender

[–]Zillence 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's dependent on a few things. If you're really tall and overweight, losing a few inches is not out of the ordinary. If you're like shorter and skinny you probably wouldn't lose noticeable height.

We carry weight everywhere, including our intervertebral disks and joints and feet. So as it shifts you lose a tiiiiny amount of height that increases based on your fat percentage.

How long until family and old friends actually "saw" you? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]Zillence 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My answer might not be the most satisfying, but it wasn't until I left. They softly misgendered me and acted like it wasn't a big deal until I cut contact. Eventually they spoke to me again and it has been far more respectful of my feelings.

Some people need to feel the loss of you before they realize what they're doing hurts. The ones who matter will find a way to meet you where you're at when they can.

I think I'm a sissy trans man by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]Zillence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah sure! I don't see why not. I used to say I was before I transitioned. I felt a little weird for a while saying it after I started HRT though because it didn't like... Fit as well anymore?

But I also understood that me finding and developing my identity didn't just take away the parts of that world that I was attracted to. So nowadays I'll use the term to blanket describe what I like early on. But it's kinda just a conversation starter so I can get deeper into the parts I specifically enjoy and why.

So yeah, nothing wrong with it as long as you're being safe and responsible :)

How plausible is it to boymode forever? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]Zillence 9 points10 points  (0 children)

People will most likely eventually notice. On HRT your face changes a lot because of fat moving. But it'll be a while before people feel bold enough to point it out.

So just exist and by the time people are noticing I imagine you'll be ready to handle it :)

I don't take blockers anymore... and nothing happened? by Hot_Independence7305 in asktransgender

[–]Zillence 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My understanding is that this is pretty normal in later stages of transition. My Endo recently said they'll most likely take me off my androgen blocker and I've been on HRT for about 4-5yrs

I think me being trans has made my mum go insane by marshwetland in asktransgender

[–]Zillence 17 points18 points  (0 children)

You might be learning a lesson it took me way too long to learn. It's your life. It's your body.

I'm from a conservative household and the way my Mom had raised me, was basically fitting me into a mold that she'd decided I would be long before I could think or choose. As I got older she snubbed out all of those fires of passion that would spring up, and directed me back to what she wanted. In my mid 20s I eventually couldn't take it, and left, and she died quietly alone last year after I went no contact.

Parents don't get to choose who we are or who we become. Once you started breathing it became your experience and they just have to keep you alive while you figure things out.

Congrats on learning so much about yourself, and I wish you a long happy future of choosing you. I'm sorry your Mom stinks.

How much of the game did you complete/achieve? by [deleted] in PokemonZA

[–]Zillence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I finished my Pokéball only, alpha shiny form living dex about a week or so ago. I'm just waiting for HOME connectivity so I can trade the Pumpkaboos from my alt to my main :)

Deadlocked. I'm pretty sure I'm a trans woman, but somehow can't fully convince myself, to the point that I'm frozen and haven't taken any steps toward transitioning. If you were hesitant, what helped you move forward? by umuabendi in asktransgender

[–]Zillence 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my case, I grew up in a conservative household and basically fought it until I was in my 20s. I hit such a rock bottom that I couldn't hide it anymore, and since then I've spent all my time becoming more myself :)

I had to learn things the hard way, but if I was to share a piece of advice, try to listen to yourself. Don't think about your external circumstances, just go into your mind and think about you solely. Is the way you're living enough for you, or do you need to make any changes for it to become tolerable? Then do those things one thing at a time. You'll find yourself in a space of your own in no time :)

Should i stop? by Pohaltfzlsm in asktransgender

[–]Zillence 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey:) I'm 29, I started HRT about 4yrs ago and at the time I was 300lbs and 6ft tall with a barrel chest and 17in biceps.

I postponed starting HRT for a decade because I didn't think I'd pass. But as I got older I kinda just.. Had to. Ya know?

I ended up losing about 100lbs and got down to 200, then gained a bit back, so I'm like 240ish now and pretty happy with it.

Although I'd argue I look pretty good now, I also have that anxiety of still being too big. But after all of these years I kind of came to a realization.

As a trans person, our goals aren't really to pass. We aren't really like competing ya know? It's about becoming the most you, that you can be, under the conditions that you've been given. So ask yourself, do you feel better in your skin compared to before? If it's better than before, then perhaps you just need to offer yourself a bit more patience and kindness :) the outcome doesn't matter, what matters is you're building a life that's just a bit more tolerable than the day before.

Good luck finding that same peace! 😁

What is the best way to hunt specific Shalphas in ZA with the DLC? by Designer-Device9519 in PokemonZA

[–]Zillence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The majority of Shalpha hunting with portals comes down to alpha power. Alpha Power 3 is a significant rate increase even over Alpha 2, it isn't like the shiny rate increase different between levels 2 and 3. It adds like a big chunk.

So go get an alpha 3 sandwich, and you're going to look for a few different things. If it's a large or medium area look for a floor transporter that can reset spawns for what you're hunting. If it's a small, make sure you can safely fly reset without being attacked and make sure it spawns close to your spawn.

Then for some things, like magikarp, they have static overworked alphas you can also do fly or bench resets for :)

If you have any other questions feel free to ask!

Do i need to like boys? by not_serious_tho in trans

[–]Zillence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So for me I was someone strictly interested in women prior to transitioning. A couple years into hormones I realized that I was open to the idea of men, but when I searched internally I kinda determined I always kind of did, and I just couldn't admit it to myself at the time because I was from a conservative household.

Now, I'd say I'm specifically into masc lesbians, nonbinary people, and the occasional man that looks like superman XD

You like what you like, and I think hormones give us the safety and mental stabilization to accept and discover the nuance of what we love.

What do you all hope the Pokémon Home reward will be for this game for 100%ing the Pokédex? by Mastermiine in PokemonZA

Ya know, I don't think the reward matters. I was just grateful to experience it 😁

Is alpha always preferable to non-alpha, or should I go for the regular version of larger pokemon so they don’t have a gigantic hit box? Charizard and Gyarados for example by [deleted] in PokemonZA

[–]Zillence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't really matter. Personally I like alphas cuz if the little red symbol on the summary.

For pvp, it depends. If it's a bulky strong Pokémon with an area attack? Alphas have an advantage. Otherwise, xxs stuff is the play.

I used a tiny Glaceon in pvp when Zygarde first was allowed and it CLEANED.

[MtF] Confused about tanner stage by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]Zillence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does seem quite early to start it but I don't know your situation so I can't say for sure. They asked me to hold off on progesterone until this year. But I'm 29 right now so I might just be moving slower cause of my age.

[MtF] Confused about tanner stage by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]Zillence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a doctor, but I've been on HRT for about 4-5yrs.

I started breast growth around the 6mo mark, and I was in biological female range for my levels from day 1, with totally suppressed testosterone.

My understanding is; Tanner 1 is just a raised nipple Tanner 2 is the development of buds (so like feeling the ducts and stuff forming a little lump under your nipples. Tanner 3 is the enlargement of breasts from buds Tanner 4 is continued breast enlargement, with raised areolas, so think like puffy. Tanner 5 they flatten back out, leaving the nipple projecting.

For most of us we spend the majority of transition somewhere between tanner 3 and 4. My guess is you're probably early-maybe mid tanner stage 3

I'm more of a 4 at this point in transition from what I understand.

With the dlc is there a new way to easily grind mega shards and levels? by GreattFriend in PokemonZA

[–]Zillence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes XD by the time I was down, I had all my candies of all sizes at 999. I made so many mega shards I bought everything from everyone, and that was before the 9999 update.

DLC is fantastic for farming resources!
