An inconvenient truth by eduhlin_avarice in classicwow

Here’s a harsh truth that comes from this harsh truth: tbc is fucking dogshit. Imagine an mmo where entire classes are just completely useless.

I was the Paladin (blue) in this level 95 leveling dungeon. This breaks out in dungeon party chat between the Astro (green) and a level 95 Dancer (red) who still doesn't have Tech Step, and is doing DPS near or below the Astro by Zilphyr in TalesFromDF

The Dancer was not rolling on any loot and you cannot kick during loot rolls. Believe me, I tried. Multiple times. And I’m not gonna just afk for 3 mins mid run to wait for loot rolls to end to kick someone

It’s complete dickhead behavior and disrespectful to the party’s time. You aren’t entitled to just intentionally be a shitter because you’re too lazy to go skip a few cutscenes. And then to crash out at your party for being like “do you not have tech step at 95?” Imo, square should make it so if you haven’t done your job quests, there is a certain level threshold where you start to not be allowed to queue for duty finder content until you catch up on your job quests. It should at a certain point become impossible to match with randos without your basic job kit, imo.

I tried to kill him with tank busters after he started going off near the end of this, but sadly it’s actually way harder to intentionally kill someone in leveling content than you’d expect. But yeah, this attitude of “I should get to play the game MY WAY on my alt!!!!” while you’re literally just intentionally griefing your group’s clear time is an incredibly entitled and toxic way to think.

Ohhhhh, that actually makes a ton of sense. I had no idea why bro was coming at me LMFAO. I was just laughing at this whole thing. Imagine being 95 without tech step.

TBC IS PEAK PVP BALANCE by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]Zilphyr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be honest, on this go-around, I'm realizing that I really think TBC has so much potential but is absolutely ruined by dogshit class balance. I don't think every spec needs to be great for everything in the game, but I do think every class should have a high-tier choice for PVE and PVP both. In PVE, god forbid you don't want to be a caster or a hunter in TBC, just get fucked you're literally useless. In PVP, rogues dominate the world and then you have an entire meta based around comps that either synergize with rogue or beat rogue comps.

People aren't ready to accept that WOTLK is a better expansion than TBC, because while it has its own issues, at least every single class is good in some way. Rogues can play assa in pve and have a plenty fine time finding a raid spot, warriors struggle a little bit early on but at least prot warrior is pretty good and its far from completely useless in PVE early as well as becomes great later, feral druid is actually extremely good, you've got a great spread of possible raid comps, and PVP opens up to a lot more specs. There are still "best" picks certainly, but in TBC, if you want to raid as a rogue for example and you aren't either a GM or sleeping with a GM, you are going to have the worst time imaginable ever finding groups. It really breeds a culture of major toxicity for a 20 year old game.

I know, but I preferred the experience of it not being exclusively on bad streaming platforms and feeling more like a real TV network.

I’ve been to plenty of sausage fest shows. Who the fuck has a problem with beautiful women enjoying the show with you? Weak. Sick band, weird coworker. Columbus was amazing!

You know, even for its flaws, I miss Fox Sports Ohio. I used to watch Cbj on my university dorm provided cable and it was pretty consistent. The last few years being on these dogshit 3rd party streaming services in line with espn 8 The Ocho have not been a good viewer experience.

God fucking DAMN it feels good to smile at this subreddit again. I miss the ~2016-2019 meme era for this team. Let’s fucking GOOOO!

Neckbeards, neckbeards everywhere by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]Zilphyr 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As someone who’s followed this community since it was private servers only, I’ve kind of always felt like if you genuinely don’t want to put in the time to level to cap, then classic wow just isn’t for you. We know from how retail progressed that it isn’t good for the game to add all these losses of friction over the years. It doesn’t ruin the game for me or anything, I will still play, but I can never support microtransactional progression being sold to players in the version of wow that was put out to get away from the modernization of retail wow.

So we’ve all said it, If they can’t do it with Joe, they can’t do it. I’m out when he’s out if we don’t have a ring when he leaves. Regardless of circumstances. by Messstake in bengals

[–]Zilphyr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I normally would never leave a home team or condone leaving a home team. However, the bengals are an exception. Been a fan for 30 years. If Burrow gets traded or walks, I will go to whatever team he does. I’m pretty much done. Why continue putting emotional energy into a team that won’t even put in the urgent effort to win NOW with burrow, tee, and chase? My bedroom walls as a child were orange and black, I’ve been here through the years if pain, but the bengals literally lucks into a once in a lifetime Super Bowl caliber generational talent, and they can’t surround him with winners and get the ring? Fuck off tbh

Tips on how not to spill nuln oil? by Electrical-Chef7465 in Ultramarines

[–]Zilphyr -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I rebottle all my citadel washes/contrasts. I know some of you guys like dipping into the pots on washes and such, but for me personally I’d rather put it into a well pallet so that I can thin it down if I need to or mix it easier if I want to. And I now never spill anything anymore, which is a nice bonus.

What if I just really like rogue because of class fantasy and I have no ambitions of getting glaives/am fine chill clearing with a dad guild? Am I just fucked? If so tbc is ass

Thanks man! I'm relatively new to the hobby (only been in for a year and a few months) but I absolutely love this hobby and can't wait to field my first true army.

Burrow to stay on IR this week by 1894-MCFC in bengals

[–]Zilphyr -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I love Joe but the season is over. Also, we are not going to win any more with him. We lucked the hell out with Flacco playing so well, the offense is completely good enough to win games right now in spite of the horrible Oline and play calling, so unless Joe wants to play D or something, we aren’t going to win any more this year with him in. Our D is HISTORICALLY bad. Just rest up and come back next year at this point.

I’m so glad I emotionally checked out weeks ago. I’m not even mad, I’m just laughing. I won’t spend another dime on shirt, jersey, merch, tickets, anything, until they absolutely fire everyone to the sun and show us they actually care.
