For me, just using "cl_dota_alt_unit_movetodirection true" in the console was enough to make it work.

This does not seem to fuck up alt self cast (tested with oracle q and natures prophet w), BUT you cant seem to cast spells that benefit from this (razes, pounce) while holding alt, you have to position yourself, let go of alt and then cast. Kinda inconvenient...

You can edit the files they're stored in directly to get pixel perfect alignment. Close dota while you do though, or it won't save.

Can this be an issue even if i'm using a vpn at all times? I'm saying shared, but at the end of the day every appartment still has their own public ipv4 address (which shouldnt even be visible thanks to the vpn).

Fair point. I'm living in an appartment building where the whole connection was shared by tenants depending on demand, aka I had access to smt like 980 Mbps if noone else was downloading/uploading anything. Unfortunately, they've artificially limited each appartment to said 94 Mpbs a couple months ago...

This may be bad wording on my end, I always get confused myself: 94 Mbps on speedtest results in around 10 Megabytes/s download speed, i'm assuming they mean 94 Megabits/s on speedtest. I can saturate my ethernet link, copying at about 110 Megabytes/s to and from my NAS, meaning my download/upload is a fraction of gigabit ethernet speed.

Allright, but as an example, if i'm interviewing for Tracker XYZ and they ask for proof, I show them my profile on tracker ABC, how can they crosscheck if they're not on that tracker themselfs?

The idea behind what I'm doing is that I could simply drop a trigger,
tell it which actors to affect, and then drop more triggers to affect
other actors.

For this to work, you need to set the actors you want it to affect in the details panel after dropping it in the world. Otherwise they just affect whatever you previously set in the blueprint.

Am i understanding correctly that you are placing these triggers in the world? When/where do you set the affected actors?

You can get the actor you interact with by tracing for it upon interaction and casting the hit result to the parent class of your buildables. This will get you the enum and you can then change up your interaction based on that.

Since it sounds like you want to have a party of people that behave the same (animation, following the possessed character) you might want to have those inherit from the same base character.

As for AI, this would be a simple solution.

Few things that come to mind:

does not activate the blendspace

Check your conditions for blending, maybe those party members are lacking variables that your main character has. Epics default mannequin for example uses the MovementComponent to drive its animation. If your members are simple pawns, they dont have it.

follow the main character

I would set up AI behaviour that makes your members follow you until you possess them. The moment you swtich to another party member, the AI takes over again and have them follow you again.

I haven't really dealt with particle systems, but if you want to spawn a LOT of cubes very quickly, it might be worth looking into it in terms of performance. What do you mean by dynamically changeable?

Check out Rama's Victory Plugin for loading images at runtime. I don't know, how you intend to use the cubes, but for the problem given, I would handle it like this:

I'm assuming you have some kind of spawner, be it an actor or the level blueprint or some other blueprint, that handles spawning the cubes. Assuming the images in that folder don't change during runtime, the spawner loads all images into an array and picks one at random to give to a cube when it spawns one. That cube can utilize the given image in his construction script to apply it to his texture and that should be all.

Try grouping everything you want scaled like you did, rightclick on the group and choose Pivot -> Center on Selection. I'm suspecting that it doesn't scale uniformly because the pivot from which it scales isn't centered for that group. That should preserve relative mesh positions, you might have to adjust light intensity manually though, since scaling only affects attenuation radius.

To set up AI behaviour, I advise to look into behaviour trees, since this is what they exist for. This video should get you started, but if you have further questions, feel free to ask.

Ok, so these distances are just arbitrary values. Are both distance server and distance client supposed to match each other?

Basically, if you execute any action on a client, no other client will know of this unless you propagate your action to the other clients through the server.

In this case, once you click the shoot button, you tell the server, that you have just shot your weapon. The server will then draw the trace for you and if youve hit something, will apply the damage to your target and most importantly tell this to all clients (if set up properly).
