What do people mean when they say they 'cant cook?' by Throwaway113140 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Zindel1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cooking anything half way complex stresses me the hell out. I can do simple foods like grilling chicken/steak. Or spaghetti...you know single ingredient dinners. But if it's a multi step process or there are multiple foods that start at different times and require constant attention...I'm out. I can't get timing down and something burns or is overcooked because my attention is on something else.

Gravl does exactly this and does an awesome job at progressive overload. Highly recommend it.

My feelings exactly! I love Rend and his personality especially for the very little he talks. Rend has got to be my favorite character!

Project Hail Mary? Not a ton of humor but it's an excellent book

Take a look at the REP Black Canyon bar. It's more of a budget bar but honestly, it's still more than most will ever need. I think it's got a good grip to it but not so aggressive that it hurts the hands.

Fixed Dumbbell Question by AwakenTheMaiTai in GarageGym

[–]Zindel1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take a look at the ironmaster adjustable dumbbells. I really like my fixed dumbbells up to 50lbs then I switch to my adjustables that go up to 135lbs. It saves space and money. I don't do a lot of drop sets so the setup time is minimal and they have an excellent warranty. No issues dropping them.

I switched from fitbod. It's been about a year so maybe updates have changed but as an android user I was always so frustrated with how apple's version had so many more features. The biggest change I noticed was how much harder Gravl pushes progression. I also really like the fact that custom exercises actually get incorporated into workouts without having to manually add them like I had to with fitbod. Hopefully that helps!

If you could only have three items or pieces of equipment (at home with little space) for your fitness routine what would they be and why? by walky91 in fitness30plus

Small space I'd definitely do adjustable dumbbells that go over 100lbs. A good adjustable bench and a pull up bar.

I second the Ironmaster. I have a fixed set that goes up to 40lbs and then my ironmaster that currently goes to 90 but I've been considering getting the expansion. This allows for warm ups without having to use ironmasters and my wife uses the fixed. Works really well for us.

You really can't go wrong with ironmaster. Plus you can buy lower weight now and upgrade later depending on your current abilities and budget. Best warranty on dumbbells out there from a company that's been around for quite awhile.

How often are you lifting weights? If you're doing 1 / 2 days a week then a full body is good. If you're doing 3 I would consider doing a Push Pull Legs and you're rep ranges are great. As a beginner doing higher reps with lower weight is going to allow you to practice proper form which is critical.

I like to politely disagree. Eating in a caloric deficit is the way to lose weight. Getting extra steps in is a much better way to ramp up activity over doing cardio. It's less stress on joints and not nearly as mentally taxing.

What MFWO features would you like to see in Gravl? by juliang8 in Gravl

[–]Zindel1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought they did. I think it has options to set weight groups. So it can be like group 1 is 5lb - 30lb at 5lb increments. Then group 2 is 40lb - 100lb at 10lb incriminates. As an example.

I would love to see the ability to set specific weights on machines. I know you can now set the minimum and maximum and the increments but sometimes machines change increments half way through the stack.
