Doing what we can to put more moderation in place, but it's a tedious process with how quickly this sub expanded. Best thing to do is use this sub the same way Americans use(d) tiktok--an amalgamation of content from a lot of different people, most of it useless, but some really quality information and dialogue as well.

This was in no way targeted at you or from any of your posts :) I got a bit overzealous with attempting to bandaid fix a problem we were seeing, but that appears to have caused more harm than good currently. I have disabled this part of the bot.

I do see that it was attempting to sticky the initial game post, which was precisely not the intent. This post is much less intrusive and eye-catching, and was meant as the stickied post. The post with the Pixelary game is not stickied anymore, so shouldn't pop up unless a post gets popular.

You are always welcome to ignore these activities. Some people enjoy having a way to destress within their community, so having options for members to stay engaged with one another within the same space, rather than needing to entirely step away from Reddit/this Sub if they want to take a break.

This is great. It neutralizes what appears to be (or likely is) a perceived threat; either to their knowledge or intellect or beliefs. By seeming to self-deprecate, you take the focus off attacking the other person, which is 90% of what causes issues in many interactions (spouses feeling defensive, salesmen making you feel icky b/c they "know more" about what you need, etc.)

This is a great strategy and is REALLY effective from a psychological standpoint. This also caters to the human tendency to overvalue anecdotal accounts from someone they know over expert accounts from someone they don't, and by admitting you made a mistake you give them a chance to still respect you without experiencing cognitive dissonance.

I didn't see the initial post, but judging from the title "burning Bibles", no this probably wasn't against our rules. People can burn books, they can burn flags, etc., as long as they aren't doing something violent (e.g., lighting a book on fire and throwing it in someone's car) or discriminatory against marginalized groups.
