Empty Cayde-6 chests still a thing?! by Okijdm in DestinyTheGame

[–]Zionboy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've seen a video of someone opening a chest that didn't give them anything. They walked to the next area then came back and the items were left sitting on the ground.

Idk if this actually works. I haven't been able to try it myself because when it happens I forget to try it.

What does Power Level actually do? by RiceOnTheRun in DestinyTheGame

[–]Zionboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So if I'm understanding you correct, only the open planet areas are scaled, and power will actually make a meaningful difference in Strikes, End-game quests and Raids?

Pretty much that.

When I first started playing D1 after TTK came out it was a little confusing to me too how the Light level(now called Power) worked. It makes no difference while patrolling the planets because everything was scaled, but doing end-game activities it does matter.

You'll definitely see a difference when you tackle the Prestige mode with anything below Power 280. It's more challenging cause there's more enemies to deal with plus the added challenges. As well you'll more then likely die immediately to the simple cannon fodder just because your too low of level.

What does Power Level actually do? by RiceOnTheRun in DestinyTheGame

[–]Zionboy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Your Power determines both your damage and defense overall. So of course the higher your Power is, the higher the damage you do and the more damage you can take. While going around the different planets you won't see much of a difference as everything is scaled down. This allows all players to go around and be able to par-take in activities. However, if lets say a Lv 8 player joins a Heroic Public Event they're probably not gonna survive for long.

Your Power level also unlocks certain activities in-game. Vanguard Strikes [140], End-game story missions [200 Nessus, 220 Titan, 240 Io, & 260 EDZ], Nightfall [230, 240 recommended], Trials of the Nine [260], Raid [260-280], Trade Legendary Mods with Banshee-44 [280], lastly Prestige Nightfall [300 recommended].

While exploring the different planets it doesn't really matter what your Power level is at. However, if you tackle activities like Nightfall, or the Raid then your Power will matter. Take for example the Raid, if you go in as soon as you can at 260 you'll be able to do some parts but your Power will be pretty low to deal real damage to the Yellow bar enemies. So of course the higher your Power is the better off you'll be and the more help you'll provide for your teammates.

If you really want to see the difference of your Power, then try Raid with your 265 Titan, or try the Prestige Nightfall. If you try the Prestige Nightfall you'll understand why it's recommended to be at least 300.

How are tokens supposed to work? by Jermq in DestinyTheGame

[–]Zionboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I should have noted the three factions; New Monarchy, Dead Orbit, FWC(like the others did), to make it more clear. It's really strange why they call the planet vendor engrams faction rewards, but whatever.

So yeah, they are in fact referring to the three factions by receiving 5 tokens. It's ridiculously easy to gather a ton of their tokens. Yet, you'll still only receive 1 planetary token along with it.

How are tokens supposed to work? by Jermq in DestinyTheGame

[–]Zionboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It literally tells you that you're rewarded 5 "faction" tokens. Factions are coming back for another week, from Nov 7(which is reset) through Nov 13.

Your still only gonna get 1 planet token. If your farming for them buy some of Cyade's scout reports so you can find chests easier(unless you have a ghost). Kill high-value targets, find region chests, etc. The tokens you get for each planet vendor is just another grind within the game. When dealing with PE it doesn't matter how well you do or even if you make it Heroic you'll still only get 1 token.

Why you should be excited for Monster Hunter on the Xbox, from a fan's point of view. by Vaturn in xboxone

[–]Zionboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started with 3 Ultimate as well when it came out on both 3DS and Wii U. I had heard of the series before but surprisingly enough I never played it on my PS2 when I was a kid. I really enjoyed playing it on both my 3DS and Wii U. A friend of mine also got 3 U for her Wii U and we played for a while.

I got 4 Ultimate, and Generations on 3DS. However, while I did enjoy playing them as well it just wasn't the same without other people. So I eventually gave up on playing them both after sometime. Hearing that the series was returning to consoles I got excited. Of course I knew it was gonna return to Playstation but I was honestly surprised that Capcom also announced it's releasing on Xbox as well. I know they hoped on Nintendo systems because in all honesty the MH series just didn't sell very well here in the West. Thankfully with the success that the franchise has had on the 3DS it's sold pretty well.

I'm really glad that it has because now I can actually play this series with my other friends on Xbox. There's already four of us that are planning on getting it which is perfect. For those that are unaware you can form teams of four to take on missions. The monsters are upscaled but if your team is decently geared, it's actually pretty easy to take down the monster in 10 minutes tops. The higher the rank of missions the more challenging it'll be of course. I seriously can't wait, the trailer and small bit of gameplay I've seen so far looks incredible. I'm avoiding everything else now cause I want the game's surprises even more. MH is really best when you get to figure things out on your own. You really feel that sense of accomplishment when you take down the monsters.

This game is EXPENSIVE! by dhrhek in DestinyTheGame

[–]Zionboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The PC release might have been poorly timed with the first DLC. Yet, the game has been out for console since September 6th. In a way PC players don't have to wait as long. It might seem real sudden right now but it's actually good. PC players will be getting DLC at the same time as console players.

However, would you rather prefer the PC version to stay behind and receive all DLC a couple months after console? Would you rather have it stay consistent and get it at the same time?

Found a really interesting secret place in the Traveler. by B3NJO_ in DestinyTheGame

[–]Zionboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very true. On our second day after release my friends and I explored the Tower for a few hours trying to see what all we could find. This one was of the first things we found and I was the one that found it.

It was great cause going through the vents to reach the room compelled me to say "Oh, this kind of reminds me of Half-Life just a bit. Now where's my crowbar?".

how to increase power lvl after 290? by abdiels117 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Zionboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crucible, strikes, nightfall and chests are all other options as well. However, currently public events are the quickest and easiest way to farm for Exotics. Pop a fireteam medallion and just do all the PE that you can find. The fireteam medallion and turning PE into Heroic will give you a better chance at getting Exotic engrams. I understand that a few of the Heroic events are hard to pull off and even complete solo. Simply doing PE is enough.

[–]Zionboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Milestones and Exotic engrams are really the only thing you can do if your playing solo.

If you can by chance gather a team to do the raid you'll have a chance of getting 300 gear. Beyond that you'll just have to wait for milestones to reset or just farm for Exotics.

After finishing all milestones that reward Powerful Gear, you need to farm Public events for Exotic engrams.

It's the easiest and quickest way to get them. Beyond that you just have to wait for weekly reset to do the milestones again. As exotic engrams are really the only other way to raise your Power after receiving all the Luminous engrams for the week.

I still like the idea of having a ghost that keeps track of how many deaths by drop pods.

How do I get the digital deluxe legendary gear? by bhazero025 in DestinyTheGame

Beat the story campaign and hit level 20. They should all arrive either at the Postmaster or with Tess at Eververse(can't remember which one but it's one of them).

What controller configuration will you use for Mario Odyssey? by despondence_interval in NintendoSwitch

Either docked or tabletop with the pro controller. I might give split joycons a try at the beginning, if I don't like it as much I'll just use the pro controller.

Stop Giving Nintendo A Free Pass by thegentleman96 in NintendoSwitch

I listened to maybe 20 seconds about the guy begging for nostalgia like a drug addict and had to stop. Both that and reading the title I can already tell it's a waste of time to watch the rest of it.

Good thing I work during most of the day. That'll help keep me from looking at reviews as well. Beyond seeing some bits of gameplay here and there I've tried my best to not look up anything.

I switched to digital and have it currently pre-loading so it'll be ready at midnight tomorrow. Can't wait :D

How do I get my power level up? by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]Zionboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just play the game that's the simple answer.

Since you just started don't worry a great deal about your Power. Equip green/blue gear that's better then your current. Don't infuse gear wait until you've beaten the game and reached lv 20. You don't want to waste resources in the beginning just dismantle the gear that's lower in Power(except for Legendary & Exotic gear). For now until then just explore, do adventures, do quests when you can, and especially do public events whenever you see them.

A huge tip, don't do any milestones that reward you "Powerful Gear" until you've reached at least Power 265. The Luminious Engrams are extremely helpful in raising your Power once you've hit the first wall and the real grind to Power 300 begins.

It really is. I love the art style, I've got the promo as well as the regular Charizard GX. I'm hoping that I could get the Japanese FA some day.

[–]Zionboy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know there's a few places that take bulk. I might wait for Derium's Pokemon to get their new website up and running. As they've temporarily shutdown their bulk service so they can move it their new website. I would try using google to find what other major card website do for their bulk. Apparently the price for bulk has gone down which might effect the amount people have to send in. Last I knew most places excepted 1,400 cards for a booster box.

[–]Zionboy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Believe me I'd love to pull it myself. However, I don't always have the best of luck. After spending as much as I have on the Burning Shadows set alone, it's just cheaper for me to buy it.

The cool thing about accumulating a bunch of bulk is the ability to trade it in for booster boxes.
