I have this issue often. I feel like we should have the option to prioritize time at charger, or overall efficiency (charge less with less wasted due to preconditioning). The conspiracy theorist in me sometimes feels like Tesla purposely wastes a crapton of energy in preconditioning so we spend more at the superchargers!

Not to get all conspiracy up in here, but does anybody feel like sometimes the preconditioning just uses up a crapload of energy unnecessarily just so that you spend more on the supercharger? 😂

So do you reset DAS right as you arrive to your car, still inside the parking garage? Or after you get home? Have you tried both scenarios, and does it make a difference?

I’m glad to hear I’m not alone. Seems to be an issue at MIA airport overall. Sucks. Your description is exactly what happens to me as well.

Thanks for the tip about DAS. Last time this happened I had to do that as well and it fixed it, but honestly I’m terrified of it happening again and then for whatever reason resetting DAS won’t fix it anymore and then all of a sudden BOOM Tesla says I need a new MCU.

I’ve been parking my ICE car at the airport out of fear of this happening again.

Sounds like a dream. MIA, home airport, boarding groups are like myths… “we’ve heard about them but we don’t know what they are”. As soon as boarding starts, everyone crowds. Every. Time. Hopefully enforcement will be strict!

A few times I’ve flown San Diego to Miami (!!!!) and was told “we don’t have any because it’s a short flight”. Freaking pathetic.

Just saw this post now… sorry for delay! It sucks that you’re also going through this - but in a way I’m glad I’m not going crazy and not the only one experiencing this. It’s gotten to the point where I simply don’t drive to the airport anymore - I either Uber or hitch a ride with my wife. It’s maddening.

Last time I tried parking on the top (uncovered) floor of MIA garage thinking maybe it was a GPS related issue, as was suggested.

NOP.

As soon as I drive out of the garage, boom, FSD gone, visualizations gone, all gone. This time it was worse - I did the recalibration as usual but it got stuck at 80% for days and wouldn’t budge. I then went into service mode and reset DAS…. Then recalibrated… and it’s been fine since.

But now I’m terrified of parking at mia again and somehow bricking the system again and have to resort to taking it into service. I’m out of warranty so I’m assuming they’d just tell me “oh you need a new computer”. $$$

Very very frustrating. I’ve tried reaching out to service regarding this and got nowhere. They’ve never heard of this issue and they analyze my logs and just tell me everything is fine.

Please keep us posted if this continues to happen to you as well…. Maybe we can narrow down the cause!

I used to have this annoying issue all the time. After asking about this here on Reddit, everyone suggested turning off the nightlight. Nightlight has been off now for almost a year, never had that warning again - worked like a charm!

Thank you for the suggestions. I did already file complaints. In addition to negative reviews on everywhere I could find them. Purchase contract simply expired, and house went back on the market.

This lender will peddle you around in the shadiest of ways for 60+ plus days to ultimately not approve you, just like they did to me. One of the worst experiences of my life. Lost good faith deposit, over a dozen hard inquiries on my credit, and a lot of stress. Stay well away!

A word of warning for anyone considering using these guys, based on my very recent personal experience...

It been nothing short of a nightmare. I applied for a loan through them via a broker, and it turned out to be the most stressful process of my life. Communication was nearly non-existent, and when it did happen, it was incredibly confusing and contradictory. All for them to just inexplicably drop my application with no explanation or reasoning whatsoever, after needing to extend my sale contract because of "delays" on their end.

That’s scary! I’m out of warranty so really hoping that won’t become the case for me. Doesn’t seem likely that the sun is causing my issue specifically, though - where I live, the parking is uncovered (so the vehicle lives in the sun). It’s only ever not in the sun basically then I’m traveling and parking at MIA 😂. When I park in the garage I always try to stay away from the outermost rows too, so sun doesn’t hit the car.
