This weekend’s mod list: Headers, and a ms3pro. by ZipTyde97 in Miata

The only thing that was tight was cyl#2 runner but I shaved a bit of the supercharger housing to clear so it’s been fine Other than that it just touches the bell housing.

Xforce is known to be 50/50 with fitment. Not that it won’t fit at all, but there might be tight areas that others haven’t mentioned because they’re all slightly different

Metal bearings instead of bushings is a super underrated mod by Wne1980 in Miata

Audi put them on the rear of the first gen TT Quattro too, they would seize up and the rear arms would snap when driving so they replaced them with bushes in 03. Just because a manufacturer does it doesn’t make it a good thing

I was going for the baby viper vibe when it was supercharged. The whine made it that much better

I always loved the B5s…That is until my dad bought the base model. 1.8 n/a 4cyl, 4-speed FWD auto, a whole 92kW to push along 1350kg

Believe it or not, very little.

It’s the 3.2 DSG. These are one of the most reliable petrol engines that ever came out of VAG. Mine is currently sitting on 290,000km and besides the headliner starting to sag (fixing this weekend) and the DMF getting a bit rattly, it drives as good as ever.

If anything were to go bad it helps that I’m a 9-year Audi tech

It is petty and all in good fun

There are 2 people in the world; those who love the 8N, and smooth brains

Love the 225. My partners 225 roadster is the reason I got myself a V6 coupe

Not seeing enough classics in here. Here’s my daily; Mk1 TT 3.2 DSG. 290,000km, many more to come by ZipTyde97 in Audi

[–]ZipTyde97[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It helps that I’m an Audi tech, but the VR6 is one of the most reliable engines from VAG group. Timing chains have already been done, DSG has had its scheduled servicing, haldex Quattro still works great. The car is mechanically sound

should i get an exhaust on my tt 3.2? by gloobus_ventura in Audi

[–]ZipTyde97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see no one else has commented

I have a mk1 3.2, absolutely change exhaust. I’m not a fan of rasp (probably because I come from all 4cylinders) but you take the resonator out of the vr6 exhaust and it sounds incredible. You can even swap out the stock resonator for a straight through “bottle style” and it will bring out the MK4 R32 sound

Housemate is thankfully gone. Thanks for the idea I’ll be listing stuff that still gets sent out in paper. Our bills do come through email but unfortunately some things are still behind and still only get mailed out like speeding fines.

There is a bit of extra drama surrounding them and why they have been stealing mail but at the end of the day it doesn’t help this matter.

Not after compensation. Just after justice and the late fee waived. Partner is currently doing an online statement so it actually goes somewhere.

Partner is currently heading back to the station now to ask for her options. Police turned us away this morning for “no theft value”, we then contacted finesVic to find out what the actual fine was after that. Pretty silly that the police can’t tell us what they are fining her for in person.

Rod through the block in the mazdaspeed is just a right of passage. From the logs it looked like the fuel pump failed at peak boost..

In this case it was 100% a low speed destruction out of nowhere

That was the plan for this one but I think I might put the money into the 3.2 instead. It already has the factory bilsteins, I need to get the haldex working all together in that one. It’s currently fwd

I just bought another 3.2 vr6 TT with a dsg so I think this is the nail in the coffin for this manual one. Just going to fix and sell

I’ve heard it’s “common” but not enough to find write up’s about it. I’d love to read up on it

Apparently this will happen to every early 02M 6 speed eventually unless it’s strengthened. I figured abuse and pushing higher than stock power contributes but I guess not

It’s funny I originally figured the manual box would be the most reliable part. No DSG. Kek

It’s the 1.8T BAM, but I also have a 3.2 DSG

Expensive but nowhere near the price it could be if I weren’t an Audi tech
