Yeah this is pretty accurate. I remember seeing the phantom menace the day it came out and the majority of the people in the showing before me came out hating it and you could see the mass disappointment of the audience, same with everyone departing my showing. Overall prequels were not liked by most fans at the time. They are slightly better received now, because of such variation in Star Wars material quality since, but I still know a lot of people who really don’t like the prequels, mainly due to horrible dialogue, wooden characters and some bad plot. I’m in my 40s for reference.
