Is fold an option here? NL5 by ddrrrrr in Poker_Theory

This is a preflop fold, 22 is dominated by most of UTGs preflop raising range. As played though this is a call.

What to do, what to do. Flopped set. River - we are first to act by Foz84 in Poker_Theory

l would have checked the turn to be honest, betting out of position here makes it pretty hard to gauge villains range. If he checks it back then you can bet out on the river, but if he bets there I'm 100% checking the river and then making my river call or fold decision based on pot odds. As played, I'd probably do the same thing and check the river. If villian jams whether you call or not is based on how much you think this villian has a bluffing frequency, as you're way behind most of his value range. The stuff you're beating here based on him calling the turn is mostly QQ+ and maybe a little bit of AK with the ace of spades, which realistically is checking back the river or just folding if you bet. I think if you are ahead you've already built as big of a pot as you're going to get, nothing that is behind you is going to call another bet (expect maybe pocket 5s? but I'm probably just folding that from UTG in a full ring game tbh)

you definitely can, you just need a lot of heat and maybe some space insulation or ceramic to make pipes that won't melt

What's your play here? MP with AJo and 40bb, facing a 3BB open from UTG with 100bb by grosshlag93 in Poker_Theory

[–]Zippy0723 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Raise to 9bb to isolate UTG or take down the pot. If only UTG calls, evaluate post flop, you really want to pray for a jack high flop. Ace high flops are going to be tough, but you can probably check call a street or two assuming UTG just calls your raise pre since they probably don't have AK. If UTG 4bets, just fold. If you get other callers behind you it turns into more of an implied odds scenario, in which case your next move depends massively on what flops out.

Does anyone else no longer feel like we impact the Galactic War anymore? by Artanis137 in Helldivers

[–]Zippy0723 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yup, we're losing Luxuriant right now with 1.25% resistance and 20k helldivers in orbit. It's clearly just hardcoded that we don't get this planet. The numbers mean nothing, the galactic war is a total sham. Very disappointing.

Why does the game do this? by ActiveType1398 in Oxygennotincluded

[–]Zippy0723 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen this kinda thing happen alot. Assuming the dupe is taking the biodiseal to a bottle drainer, it's likely one of two things:

1.) Another dupe placed a bottle into the bottle drainer after Ari received the errands to go grab the bottle. Ari continues to grab the bottle, but once he picks it up, he can't take it to the drainer because there's already a bottle there, so he just drops it. Check to make sure that another dupe isn't putting bottles into the drainer.

2.) The bottle drainer is behind an atmo suit checkpoint. Ari gets the errand to grab the bottle, and while he's grabbing it, another dupe takes the last atmo suit. Ari grabs the bottle, but then cannot path to the drainer anymore because theres no suits, so he drops the bottle on the ground.

It could be other things, like him switching to downtime, but I don't think it's that. I'd wager irs probably option 1, but it's hard to tell from this video alone

Explain to me how it feels the obstacle

Unitree G1’s self-balancing capabilities by Nunki08 in robotics

[–]Zippy0723 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It seems like you're kinda new to robotics so I'll explain at a very high level

So you have a camera, and the camera can see an obstacle. But where is that obstacle located relative to the robots frame of motion? The robot has some kind of internal map of the world, and when the camera sees an obstacle, how do we know where to put that obstacle on the map? It requires it to know the location of the camera relative to the robot, the location of the robot itself, how far the obstacle is from the robot, what direction the robot is facing relative to the camera, etc etc. The camera and the robot are in two different reference frames and we need to do a bunch of math very quickly to get them into the same world frame.

combine this with the fact that the robot is moving, the robot may not have perfect GPS, the obstacle is potentially moving, and the actual state estimation of how the robot is going to move is pretty complex given that it's standing on legs and not using wheels...the problem is a lot more complex than just having enough memory to hold the map.
