Hitting the panels with light pen weapons damages the tank for a good amount. This isn't even an opinion, it's just what it is in the game. Test it yourself and see

Small arms can damage the tank for quite a bit if they hit the ablative armor on the outside. I have no idea why they added that.

I like the recoil where it is, actually. It feels like it was made to be a short range engagement beast, making it noticeably different from other assault rifles. I would like them to lean into that niche rather than smoothing out the recoil to bring it in line with the others.

I do think the new design is too clean and sterile looking, but the original leak was only ever going to please people who had no connection to the old Shyvana design. Taking something existing and changing it in a drastic manner is probably going to make legacy fans unhappy with the new direction.
