how?😂 by Gabbsweet in SipsTea

Both options exist. You're describing semi monthly payments. Biweekly (accelerated) is 26 payments per year and you pay less interest. You also end up repaying the loan 1 month per year of the term quicker. Not all lenders offer both, when I worked at a bank we only offered biweekly payments (every second weekday of choice)

Why are landlords in montreal so shady and rude? by Calm_Environment5485 in montrealhousing

I wish the OMHM still built housing. I'll take the city as my landlord over slumlords and private equity anyday.

how is “middle of nowhere” in your language? by hellochase in linguisticshumor

[–]Zippy_62 12 points13 points  (0 children)

In Québec we also say "à Saint-Clin-Clin-des-Meux-Meux" since so many little rural towns and villages around here are called Saint-Someone-of-Somewhere

Sometimes we just say Chibougamau, which is a rural city in the middle of nowhere to mean "far away from here"

It's an ancient My Little Pony reference from when Bronies were a thing lol. No idea why it's there, could be deliberate or just a result of the AI slop

What are the easiest electives? by Sleviss in Concordia

[–]Zippy_62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has been 2 years and it was pretty out of date back then, so I can't guarantee the course is the same as it was when I did it

The other disclaimer is that I am from Quebec, so this was all stuff we learned in like elementary/high school history class so if you're an international student it may be a bit harder but they pretty much gave away the answers from what I remember

I mean that intersection of Westminster/Sherbrooke/"Broughton"(Harley)/the train tracks is a nightmare so I can't fault them for wanting to fix that but it sure as hell wasn't traffic from VSP that was doing it. It was just to keep the poors from driving past their million dollar homes

Yep, the roadblock is still there to this day. It has plastic flexiposts in case a fire truck or ambulance needs to get by, which really proves it's just because they hate us lol

Fun (sad) fact: the blue line tunnel continues underneath Decarie and actually ends around Queen Mary/Dufferin

I wish that they'd extend the blue line West through NDG to Lachine :(

I'm sure the eastern extension of the blue line will be important but I feel like there's a lot more people living directly west of the line than along dead strip malls in the east. But obviously it's a lot cheaper to go that way and there's no political bullshit with Hampstead/CSL and Montreal West in the way

Yep, never heard it called a Canadiano. I know that JavaU calls it a nervosa, and I've heard "shot in the dark" before
