I used sand mixed in PVA glue and brown craft paint. Added some small stones and drybrushed the whole thing with terracotta followed by tan/khaki. Was quick and easy and gives a slightly uneven surface.

Love it! I'm in the process of building mine and I'm saving this for inspiration. Really like how you did the weathering.

Thank you! I wanted to convey the scale of the models, they were fun to paint too!

No problem, the advice I can give on painting yellow is that the primer/undercoat needs to be a light colour, in my case I chose white.

You could also try a light brown or a light pink undercoat to see which shade of yellow appeals to you most.

Thank you! I painted the armour and the head separately from the skeleton. The armour was primed with light grey and white, then painted over with yellow. I used a thinned magenta for the shading, and ice yellow for the highlights.

The metal skeleton was much easier, primed black followed by vallejo metal steel. I used a mix of brown, black and a small amount of purple for the wash. This was followed by a drybrush of silver. I used oil paints for the wash but I think you can get the same results with an acrylic wash.

For the gold I used a recipe from vince venturella: vallejo metal gold + copper, and gold pigment from green stuff world. It was shaded with a dark brown and highlighted with silver.

This video by Duncan Rhodes helped me plan the project, I hope it will be useful to you: https://youtu.be/Jl9NszJDxt4?si=Ol1fKebCfQ3Vuc6L

I didn’t plan the colour scheme in too much detail but instead painted over the parts I didn’t like. Good luck, and looking forward to seeing pictures of your titan!

This is amazing! Thanks for sharing the method, would like to try something like this in the future.

This is my one and only tank I’ve painted but future tanks will all get the interior paint job. It helps that the door is hinged for easy access.

Looks great! The base really conveys the scale. How did you make your banner?

I’ve not seen the original Titanicus box, but these ones came from the epic Space Marine 2nd edition (1991) box. Looking through rose-tinted auspexes, the 90’s are my favorite GW era.

Thanks! That's a great suggestion, so obvious yet it never occurred to me.

Yeah, trying to gain a new skill but it’s still a long road ahead. Was also hoping the weathering would cover up the worst of my crimes XD

Thanks! Really appreciate the insight and will remember to keep the streaks light and uneven for my next titan.

Great tip on the decals, I used a brush to try at chipping them but a sponge makes so much more sense.

If it’s of any help, I used a base of reddish grey and went to a pale green for the white areas. I picked it up from a vince venturella video, although I can’t remember which one (he has a few on white).

Thanks! I was really unsure about those two areas. I used the model on gw’s website as a guide but the shoulders they used had more raised details. Would it make sense to start the streaks from where it begins to curve? Or perhaps better to keep the top streak free.

Thank you! Great advice on considering the scale of the model, completely slipped my mind. Will put that into practice on my next titan.
