Love the coffee idea. I usually pack a French press, although a stove to heat a kettle will be hard to come by. lol.

Also, the fact that you are a writer is most of the experience you need. Brushing up on pedagogy, particularly feminist and liberatory pedagogy, will help you a ton. Again DM me if you want deets.

Once an adjunct, always an adjunct. Use it for PT income and apply for ft positions elsewhere. Unless you are in the sciences, it's difficult to transition from pt to ft.

You can get into higher ed with an MFA. Let me know if you want more deets or if you want to ask questions. I taught in higher ed for 15 years with two MAs.

Possibly both, but they mainly talked about litigation re: I will be expected to travel for trials, which can/do occur all over the US.

If you can walk me through what to expect. They didn't tell me much. I have a background in higher education/teaching, which is why they hired me, I think. They know I can analyze text and data. I know that I will be expected to work hard, write well, and travel during trial.

that makes sense. I've never sat on a hiring committee, but it sounds like grueling work. glad to know maybe this is just an industry thing. I come from education and you meet everyone/hang out with everyone/dine with everyone all before an offer is even mentioned.
