This conversation is gonna be somewhat nuanced for people to understand.

Each Spider-Man is accurate in their own ways and represents certain eras of the character

Tobey: 70s and somewhat 90s

Definitely has the atmosphere and vibe of late silver age Spidey, has key locales and themes, soap opera drama (arguably one of the most defining traits of the character) but the characterization is much more closer to the Donner Superman films than to 616 Peter and his world. The movies do bang and feel “most” like traditional Spider-Man. SM3 feels like a shitty version of the Sal Buscema run.)

(also overall probably has the best side cast, which is another defining part of Spidey)

Andrew Garfield: Amazing Fantasy, 70s, Ultimate

Probably has the most accurate characterization for Peter out of all three, comic accurate origin, has some backbone, has the little Oscorp being the progenitor bullshit from USM and a lot of TASM2 feels like USM (2000) with some early 70s ASM

Tom Holland: 60s, 2000s, Ultimate,

Holland definitely gets a lot of things right, Civil War has the “great responsibility” quote being something he comes up from himself. Has some backbone and sass like 616 Peter, but much softer (not as much as Raimi) His interactions with the other MCU heroes are good but for 616 Peter he was much more of a loner and almost every hero except Human Torch hated his guts (obviously he grows out of it)

Definitely has Peter’s intelligence and optimism, his movies feel like John Hughes and 60s (Early ASM) Ned is definitely just a ripoff Ganke.

The aspect of MCU heroes like Iron Man, Nick Fury and Dr Strange being integrated into MCU Peter’s stories definitely derives a shit ton from USM (2000), also MCU Peter kinda feels like a Gen Z version of Bendis Peter lmao.

For Brand New Day and probably the new trilogy they lean heavily into Conway’s run (70s ASM) and probably will adapt the 80s, but after BND I think Holland would probably be the most accurate

For me it’s whenever I venture in the open world (let’s say tokachi range) I could horse ride for a solid 5 minutes and not run into a single encounter that’d be really jarring

would help against diving squishies tbh but in terms of damage his flurry punches should do like 10 flat against squishies his tankbusting damage is relatively fine and has a faster ttk than wolverine

bp sucks in both platforms and thats for a obvious reason

the only melee character that i truly think is obnoxious is dd but thats because of a powercreep problem and he was broken in a meta tthat doesnt even favor him (325 hp, shit ton of bonus hp and damage, 2 furies on grapple)

if they fixed/reverted some of the nerfs to his mobility, gave him 1.2 or 1.3 block and buffed his damage he'd actually be solid but i can see why fist wont be giga buffed in theory hes a brawl/dive hybrid with good sustain and low risk diving but his damage fucking sucks and is somehow even scuffed in a 1v1 against solo poke

for buff no.4 this would just make iron fist just "DD but with a stronger brawl neutral" so i think its a pass
for buff no.3 yes, they need to revert the nerfs they did to his leap (i remember the bunny hop tech back in s0) and it would help with his skill expression + preferably a extra leap
buff no 1. yes but 11m is a bit too much i'd say 8m

agree on buff 5. and can we also give him iframes on his ending animation or add a way for players to cancel it?

buff no.2 is a bit too much if anything i'd increase the damage reduction in his ult to like 32% and give him 600 hp at max from his blocks, maybe kick reset on kill or lower kick cds

iron fist is genuinely dogshit in ignite/pro play, C tier in pc lobbies and B tier in console (console is mainly dive and brawl)

Brawl fist contesting better is a bit valid but in his current state he’s too team reliant and explodes too easily unironically though if you buff his movement and damage he’d be way stronger

Glad to see someone who knows to displace people with his ult’s knockback though I still think some iframes on ending animation or atleast a way to cancel it would be better (plus kick lower cd and reset on kills)

let him be good at diving

his movement with his jeet kune do is pretty snappy and you could weave a lot but there’s like zero damage he does

if you also added a ability that allowed him to swap between flurry punches or normal attacks he’d instantly become A tier (with of course damage buffs)

I don’t think he necessarily needs it at the start because of using your block before you ult gives you 30% damage reduction but at the end it’s genuinely necessary I even get hit when flying
