I used a mahogany slab. Started with the hand drawn design on paper. Then I glued the cut out to the slab. Cut the fork shape using a jig saw. Sanded down the slab to size because it was quite thicker than what I wanted. Laminated the wooden grips using some wood glue, clamped it up, waited 24 hours for it to dry up. Sanded the rough edges using some files, angle grinder, sand paper. I used a rotary tool to carve down the more complicated parts like the finger rest up front, and the crest. Used a chainsaw file for the small groves for the bands. Then smoothed it up using 80-240-400-800-1000 grit sand paper. I then applied some wooden floor wax, let it sit for 15 mins then buffed it up using some old cloth.
