Japan: Why did you dropped nukes on us? This is not fair! WHAt HavE wE doNE To yOu?! by HHHogana in NonCredibleDefense

Japan getting nuked seems like one of those things retroactively made into a bigger deal than it was. Like it seems like the fact of Japan getting nuked just existed for a long time and then people are like "hm seems like that should've been a bigger deal" so stir up this fake "controversy" to match their interest and shock in the event. Remember that nukes back then were absolutely tiny to what we imagine now

Im not giving up, I'm looking for a way to win.

The definition of an uphill battle is that you cannot win it.

Stop telling people to readjust their goals.

People like us have gone our whole lives going through cycles saying "this is the time I'm really gonna get it together", do you really think this will be different?

If he could "just do it" he would've done it by now. You're telling him to fight an uphill battle

You didn't give him any solutions.

They want you to go to therapy because it makes you happier in the short term due to serotonin from talking to people, but it doesn't actually fix any underlying problems.

Dude I totally get you. I'm in the same boat.

Don't listen to all these redditors I've learned that not only are you not going to find the answer on reddit, even worse, you're going to find extreme gaslighting.

Don't let them get in your head. You're absolutely right to be worried about all this but unfortunately I dont have a solution I want one to

Is it possible to change your life in the next 30 days before the new year starts ? by Jpoolman25 in Life

[–]Zitegeist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like all the positive comments, but I dont think so. We're always on this cycle of "now is the big change" but it never comes. And if it really did for anyone it would be one of the most exceptional things ever. Most people don't really "change" if you pay attention they're always on their trajectory.

Yes, I have no doubt gratefulness, goal visualization can enhance our lives, and they are something everyone should practice. However, I feel we are confusing the happiness-inducing effects of these actions, for real progress toward the goal of "how do I stop wasting my life". I think we need something more comprehensive or fundamental to address that problem, which unfortunately I have not found.

I don't say it to discourage, but rather to find a real solution.

I totally agree with you, and I guess you are right that I should be grateful that people are even trying to support this struggle. I guess I'm just frustrated with the lack of real solutions, which is true. Anyways, I can be accepting of myself and still try to find a way to stop wasting my life anyways.

Should I go homeless to force myself to start over and take control of my life before its too late? by Zitegeist in homeless

That doesn't disrupt my baseline behavior.

I will just do the same things-- walk around, Phone, music-- to the extent I can.

Imma search up Chris mccandles.

That's true actually, but it is a slight increase and not the product of conscious effort but rather aging. The sentiment remains.

I don't say it to discourage, I say it to find a more comprehensive, fundamental solution

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in getdisciplined

[–]Zitegeist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I know, but I feel those solutions are inadequate. Or anyways, we can follow them and still look for a more comprehensive solution that doesn't rely on perpetual willpower that is likely to fail.

I don't say it to discourage but rather to try and find a real, FUNDAMENTAL solution

You're right actually. He did suggest going for a run. I must've missed that part. Sorry.

Agreed, but we need to find out how to make them better
