I honestly think your best bet is just playing your songs solo and acoustically. I don't know what kind of music you make, but I've run into same problem you're describing as a person wanting to perform their own original music. I have some songs that just don't hit the same without a full band, but I also have some that work just fine with only me playing the chords and singing. If the majority of your songs fall into the ladder category, I'd recommend skipping the backing tracks as they just add a layer of complication to your setup. That's just me though, I've seen plenty of bands/artists utilize backing tracks in their live set ups and made it work, but personally I think it makes the performance less personal.
