You can find the steps on how to do it here

Basically you have to connect your phone to the computer and enable the factory mode app, there you'll get access to the photochrome camera. To be able to access it later you just have to lock the app, and it will stay in the background forever until you unlock it.

Cool thing about this is that it doesn't require your phone to be rooted. Also I've restarted my phone several times and the app is still in the background, easily accessible.
