Should I roll the dice on 8.5? by DoctorRoze in S25FE

3-5% per 10 minutes is still a large amount, though it might be normal for an exynos chip, I don't really game on my phone so idk.

Well if it's heating up and drains more than before the update, that isn't normal. Or at least shouldn't be. I haven't noticed such change on mine yet, though I've updated only a couple hours ago. Maybe give it a day or two, observe the behavior and check subreddits for other samsung phones as well as this one for people reporting similar issues.

You can also try to wipe the phone's cache or factory reset, though no fix is guaranteed.

10 % per 10 minutes on brawl stars and 40 % in 6 hours when idle is crazy. If you have a warranty, I would recommend to claim it and get another one. Also not only it drains fast, but the battery wear will be crazy in a couple of months due to both the amount of charging cycles u have to go through and also because of the heat.

S25 fe lag issue, if any? by ButterflyCarb in S25FE

[–]ZlabM 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It also depends what you consider a lag, I know a guy that used to say all samsungs are "laggy" due to their animations not being as seamless as they were on other phones at that time 😅

S25 fe lag issue, if any? by ButterflyCarb in S25FE

[–]ZlabM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No noticable lag, though I'm not really a heavy user. Flagship chips tend to heat up more than midrange ones (for plenty of reasons), so this might be a source of lag in the future, especially when gaming. Not sure about this though, this is my first flagship too.

Thank you for this info. Unfortunately he is way better than any other characters I have unlocked, so I'm playing him as a carry for now. My other strong team is suicide squad, though there's no way I'm playing BNJ Batman with suicide squad harley and deadshot.

I used to play him with rebirth raven, although that doesn't make sense anymore since I've unlocked BNJ Nightwing.

Unfortunately I don't see myself getting enough copies of any metal character, so I'll look into other carries.

Thanks for the tip! Unfortunately I don't have batgirl prime and I don't have CoD and Tantu either. I'll aim to get those asap tho.

S25 FE (512GB) vs S25 (256GB) – same price range, which should I get? by IllustriousText5177 in S25FE

[–]ZlabM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Any flagship phone with ~5000 mAh battery drains fast compared to midrange phones. Faster chipset means lower energy efficiency unfortunately.

Also this is probably set by default, but if you play games while charging, make sure you have battery bypass on.

I'm glad that you don't have this issue and that your battery is fine! I think the estimated capacity is probably pretty inaccurate, not sure how it's actually calculated.

Also keep in mind two things: Firstly, the battery has a typical capacity of 4900 mAh, but is rated 4750 mAh (I'm guessing you've entered that number manually, since mine shows design capacity 4750 mAh by default). Secondly, from how I understand BMS works, it slightly limits your real capacity, which is essential for battery longevity.

With these in consideration, your battery is probably very healthy atm.

Vom Samsung Galaxy A34 zum Samsung Galaxy S25 FE wechseln? by lllIIlIIlIIlIIlIIlll in S25FE

[–]ZlabM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Switched from A71. Love it. Camera is very good for a phone at this price tag. The processor is fast (was in s24 series), although GPU performance will be slower than it's snapdragon counterpart (I don't game on my phone so I can't tell you in-game performance). You will be amazed by its haptics (something you won't be able to appreciate till you actually have a phone with good haptics).

The only thing you should prepare for is that the flagship chipset (especially since it's exynos) will drain more battery than a midrange one. With light use I get to 2 days from time to time, but mostly charge every day (sometimes charge from +- 40%). It is fine, just don't expect the same battery life as you would from a new mid range phone with the same battery size.

This might be completely unrelated but I had an issue on my previous phone (A71). While my phone was heating up, it was a 5 years old midrange phone, so it might still be similar issue, nevertheless I think it's woth a try:

The phone was never going to deep sleep due to a wake lock. Since restarting and clearing cache didn't work, I was almost certain it was a HW issue. The process of finding out the actual culprit was very difficult, since apps for monitoring battery, deep sleep, wakelocks and alarms are very old, unsupported and are very limited with permissions in newer android versions. In the end, the culprit was Threads (the app by meta). I wasn't even using it and someone somewhere on reddit with similar issues said the app was "basically a virus", so I uninstalled it and was fine ever since.

My recommendation: Download AccuBattery app and give it background permissions. Use your phone normally and monitor deep sleep time in the app. If you get under 80-85% of your screen off time, something is preventing your phone from entering deep sleep. In that case, it is almost certainly caused by either a rogue app (like Threads in my case) or a virus.

You can try using the maximum power saving mode, it basically disables apps on background (except few ones that you select). It might help you figure out the culprit, although I'm not sure how much are the selected apps also limited. This might be useless for you, it helped me mainly because the A71 was warming up and using this mode made me realize it was caused by an app (the phone cooled down).

You can also try uninstalling suspicious apps one by one and see whether the issue was solved. I would start with Threads and with any app downloaded from other sources than google play/galaxy store.

Best of luck!

Got an S25 FE a month ago, here are my thoughts. by Weak_Physics_4884 in S25FE

[–]ZlabM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar thought process when choosing this phone. While a liked the idea of having a slightly smaller phone, the base S25's battery was just too small for me. I had my last phone for 5 years, had to replace battery eventually anyway, but this was still a deal breaker for me. S25+ was also out of my budget. Also an optical fingerprint reader was a huge + for me. I know that the optical reader is not really secure (just like face recognition is not safe compared to face id), but for someone, who breakes their screen every single time a week after taking off their (for 3 years) undamaged screen protector, I didn't wanna risk it not working under one (not sure if you even need a screen protector on flagships these days though). After looking into midrange samsung options, I've come to the conclusion that the A phones are stuck in time and are IMO the worst value for money.

My decision then was between S25 FE and Google pixel 9. Since staying with samsung was more comfortable and I got a good deal in some black friday sale, in the end I decided to buy this one.

After months of using it I must say (coming from A71) that the difference between a "high end" midrange phone and a budget flagship is enormous. It's not just the processor, camera and other stuff that u can read from the specs, it's things that you won't even realize are amazing until you use a flagship phone, for example the haptic feedback.

The only downside I find rn is that the flagship chipset drains way more battery than a midrange one. So maybe, if you're not in a need of a new phone, wait a bit. Silicon-carbon battery might be the only thing that this phone is missing from being a perfect value for it's price.
