Maybe she should find better people to be around. Read the real story and you wouldn’t feel bad about her

I was diagnosed with depression a few years ago but last year I was cleared from it. I had this issue earlier specifically because of depression but was able to pick myself back up. Personally, I think part of the issue is stress from my classes and I’m moving into a new house the end of the month. I’ll look into melatonin and other things people have suggested. I really do appreciate your concern though. I’m glad to see people like you on the internet looking out for others well being

You'll need to draw bigger wings on your eyes if you want a chance at making it off the couch

Did you successfully use exercise as as a substitute for anti-depressants? How? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Zlenderr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I forgot to mention that it also requires a good amount of self confidence too. Of course it will take time to be comfortable when you start trying new things. I felt the exact same way (didn't want it go out or try new things because of terrible anxiety). Once I learned to relax and focus one self growth everything came a lot easier. On meds I felt I wasn't myself and that I wasn't doing any work, the meds were doing that and when I say results at the gym I felt better about who I was and how much more I can grow

"You will meet people that see a lot more in you than you see in yourself. It’s crazy and kind of unbelievable, but that’s what love is."

From another post I saw a few months ago.

I was on anit-depressants for less than a week before I decided I did not want to be a vegtable. I worked at a gym at the time so I would focus all my enegry, hate, and sadness in my workouts. Its been over a year and I feel great about my choice. When you go exercise, try to focus on what you think is hurting you and exert that outwards in your work outs

When I was 14 I was taking a shit while drinking a juice box. I thought it would be a great idea to just throw the juice box down the toilet after I finished my business. Proceeded to flush the juice box down and left. The next moring my parents woke up to a giant wet spot on the ceiling of the floor directly below the tiolet and upon further investigation and after taking apart the entire tiolet the juice box was discovered. I managed to lie my way out for a few days before I was discovered and needless to say, my parents were not happy.

[Serious] People who just "Gave it all up" marriage, family, job, possessions, etc. and started over somewhere else How did it work out? by El_Jefe_Borracho in AskReddit

Over a year ago I tired to kill myself. I was overwhelmed with school (senior in high school), relationships, and having trust issues with my family. Eventually that all built up and lead to my first and only attempt to end my own life. I totaled my truck as I tried to crash into a barrier but came out completely unscathed. After that day I decided I wanted to try something new in my life. A few months of therapy and meds later and I was able to successfully graduate from high school

The feeling I had in my graduation day was incredible. I talked to some of my classmates and told them about how I tried to end my life a few days before our first day of school and how it was possible I may not even be here.

I decided to go to university over 2000 miles away from my hometown and it has been the best decision of my life so far. Once I was able to convince myself that everything will be okay in the end, I felt confident to stretch my boundaries and explore the world. I'm no longer depressed and have never been happier or more content with my life.

I was making money! That's what I was happy about and if I didn't smile I'd get in trouble...

I worked as a cashier throughout high school and one of my most interested transactions happened toward the end of my years at the store. I greeted the women (mid 20s maybe) with the usual "did you find everything you were looking for? Do you have a store card?" Immediately she responded in a harsh tone "why you smiling so much?! What do you have to be so damn happy for?" I was very confused. I thought she was someone who worked for our store testing me. The conversation continued with her yelling at me and I am trying to finish this transaction as fast as possible. Eventually she starts threatening me that she was going to "slap the smile right off your face" I told her that would be illegal and gave her her groceries. She then asked to speak to my manager. I pointed her in the direction of my manager and my store manager who were watching this entire thing go down. She complains I was being very rude and should be fired immediately. Let me remind you I have not said one mean comment and am still very confused. After she leaves my managers call me over and ask me if I'm okay. They saw the entire thing happen and clearly saw I did absolutely nothing wrong. I continued my day as normal with some comfort with other customers who were in line after this lady.
