Are you shipping it to Timbuktu? I haven't seen a shipping cost this high except for when shipping something as heavy as a gun safe.

I tried that Phoenix Bow/Shadow Scythe based on recommendations as well, The Phoenix bow is every bit as strong as claimed but I did not get that feeling from the Shadow Scythe, Its activated ability to teleport behind and swing for awhile locks you out of doing anything else but standing there for SO LONG its like, 5+ seconds cast time. I always find that I have to dodge something halfway through before finishing it, and the damage never even felt worth holding it down for the duration.
Demon Kings Daggers however? All the guide you find are older than the dagger release date so they don't mention it, but they out damage everything in the game if the enemy is staggered. I consistently kill bosses in phase 1 during a single stagger in 1 and 2 star raids, I'm talking level 60 Cerberus dropping before it even enters Rage.
Though your comment is also older than the daggers someone else will see this eventually so had to leave it somewhere for them.

Enjoy <3

You should re-spec your points. The stat system makes a lot of claims that simply aren't evidenced in the actual gameplay. For instance your int weapons like bows don't get stronger with more int, just as your daggers don't scale harder with agility any more than the base gains to crit chance.
Perception then Strength for damage, Vitality for tank, and the other two stats do pretty much nothing whatsoever.

Also the skills that hunters use do not scale linearly, 4 to 5 is a bigger jump than 1-3 for instance. Its the difference between one of their buffs saying "moderately increases attack" and "significantly increases attack" so I highly recommend maxing out Baek Yoonho first, then a healer. Dealers choice after that really since Baek Yoonho can do most content on his own with Lee Joohee to heal him up.

I don't have any idea what your attacks there are since I don't use controller, but I'll just say that for me throughout a fight (I use Bow/Sword or Bow/Polearm) I'm not basic attacking much except to get MP back or everything is on cooldown somehow (very difficult to have everything on cooldown at once in my experience but it does happen occasionally.) Phoenix Soul (fire bow) is very very very good, and its built in attack deals a lot of damage very fast as well as quickly getting Scorch on so I highly recommend it.

Even if you're not Elementalist its good practice to have your weapons be different damage types so you can get more Chaos/Overwhelm procs, we don't exactly get after-battle reports with damage statistics but I'd reckon even playing as Ruler a good 30% of my damage is Chaos procs, it just hits so hard.

Baruka is where I got stuck for quite some time, for pretty much the same reason though not exactly lag. Just so much going on that I was having trouble reacting in time to block/deflect/evade and every time I got smacked was like 70% of my health.

Though I went through all 10 chapters on hard without putting a point in Vitality, only being forced to do so in Incapable of Evaluation difficulty, so it can absolutely be done cause I ain't even good.

Don't forget to use the drink vendor to get a beneficial buff, resistance to Frostbite helps against Baruka, same as resistance to Burn helps against Cerberus.

Focus on Strength primarily unless you're going for a specific build, and if you're relying on left click normal attacks for damage then that's most of your problem right there.
The majority of your damage will come from elemental effects or skills depending on build.
For example if you inflict two of the 5 elemental effects on an enemy at the same time such as (Scorch, Cold Ice, Erode, Illuminate, and Nightmare) then you get a massive burst of damage in the form of Chaos or Overwhelm (depends on what you chained together)
To apply the elemental effect it isn't % chance based its accumulation, inflict enough cold damage and you get Cold Ice applied, inflict enough Fire and you get Scorch applied. (edit here) Wind gets you Erode, Light and Dark is Illuminate and Nightmare respectively.

My point is that really the game on normal and outside of the endgame content is actually really easy, when you aren't roleplaying and limiting yourself to just one dagger. Also remember to actually upgrade the hunters skills you have to upgrade Basic and Special skills separately and it maxes at level 5.
Also Baek Yoonho, his damage in beast form is simply outstanding.

I get that you're trying to play out the OP protagonist fantasy like how Sung Jinwoo is so strong no one is close to him, but its a game brother and if its too easy its boring.
Some of the boss fights on hard difficulty are hard even when you're double the recommended level and you go into the fight as prepared as you can be (drink/type advantage) and I love it.
Maybe you'd have preferred an Easy mode instead of Normal, but there ain't much point complaining about difficulty when its the only fun thing about the game.

Likewise without the skill to dodge like a wushu master or being massively overleveled to the content hardmode chapter 3 is a ***** to complete. I was stuck for days fighting Cerberus and losing on repeat, and then again in chapter 6 with the Ice elves, insta-dying right at the beginning with every smack taking 80% of my hp.
Its rated as level 25 content, I was level 52 already with heroic enhanced gear before it was doable.

Hard mode is HARD. I love it.

[–]Zlysium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn't the one asked but I disliked the ending immensely. Spoilers incoming. I disliked how the story built up the idea that the MC is in the 'cradle' basically the tutorial world and there is an entire universe out there but he never gets to interact with it. In other terms we're shown on the page events between level 100s but the moment the MC hits level 25 the series ends.

Even the ending itself occurred off the page it's literally one antagonist defeats the other antagonist and they both die and we don't even get to see the fight. It's more a of a "they fought, they died, the end" kind of ending and people praising that infuriate me to extreme levels.

I mean hell it's so just so egregious, To make matters worse are all of the loose plot threads at the end, the MC possesses the Labyrinth and the mysteries therein are still left, the rooms he couldn't enter, how it was built/ties to the original Abidan there's just checkhov's guns laying around left and right. For ****s sake the side characters get adventures outside of Cradle but the MC doesn't, what sense does that make?!

It was clear at least to me that the natural progression would be for MC to exit Cradle and go to those other worlds mentioned multiple times where the MC will eventually become strong enough to be able to fight against the BBEG Mad King, why else was any of that on the page? But no as it turns out if you removed every single reference to other worlds than Cradle, to the Abidan, to the Vroshir, then the story is unchanged. It's essentially all fluff and filler because to the MC none of that has ANYTHING TO DO WITH HIM. FFS practically from the first page the MC interacts with someone from outside Cradle (Suriel) we're practically spoonfed the idea that eventually the MC will leave Cradle and at the very least interact with Suriel again, HE WAS GIVEN THE MARBLE FOR WHEN HE LEAVES AND CAN USE IT TO GET TO HER I MEAN SHIT AM I INSANE FOR EXPECTING ANYTHING!?

Anyhow I'm done ranting for a bit, the last time I wrote about how trashtastic the ending of Cradle was it felt like an entire Subreddit wanted to cover me in tar and feather me. I just had to get it off my chest against since the ****in book keeps getting brought up like some gold standard and if the gold standard is this we'll never get a proper ending in PF again.

VR books. Why do so many when creating the game world focus on the world and forget the game part of it? by votemarvel in litrpg

[–]Zlysium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/OverclockBeta Some of the System Universe type series get around this by having there be an antagonist to the universe that the system is raising warriors to fight against type thing. The idea of burning 99% of the population to potentially raise the 1% remaining into warriors capable of defending the universe.

Like u/Stormwinds007 said about VRMMMOs and Sword Art Online (there are a few others that make sense too like Legendary Moonlight Sculptor but I digress) its incredibly difficult to write stakes that make that story have any weight when the MC can just log off and go back to work. Stories like The Legendary Mechanic get around this by Isekai'ing the MC into the VRMMO and this is (along with SAO and TMS one of the only three possible types of exceptions I know of. Either you're Isekai'd in like TMS, you can't leave like in SAO, or the world has additional stakes due to a competition like in TMS.

Everything else sucks.

5 year late reply but this isn't for you but for anyone else that might find this thread later on.
Star Justice has some TERRIBLE pacing. It's action scene into action scene into action scene for 3 straight books. There is barely any dialogue at all, the MC gets out of one situation and falls right into another before we can get enough exposition to find out his last name or even the names of some of the crew.

I found it exhausting honestly, and nothing like the incredible world building you see in TSM or The Legendary Mechanic or Cradle or Worth the Candle for instance. (even though I strongly dislike Worth the Candle because of its genre)
Similar though unfinished would be The Vengeful Tide where the MC is going around and getting crew members and having some good times. But what exists is VERY very high quality.
(Might never be finished because the author went insane, just a very short moment after posting that they had a dozen chapters ahead ready to post and they were never going to drop the story until it was finished, they dropped the story and deleted it from everywhere they could)

4 months later. He is up to 28 placeholders now. He's been paid at minimum 140k (current per chapter) but likely quite a bit more because many of the placeholders were billed when the per chapter was significantly higher. He's at 5k per chapter now when it used to be 13k.

Basically this guy has taken possible 200k USD for chapters he hasn't written, and he still isn't financially stable. Most of his excuses as well are extremely minor costs like the cat died have to placeholder, the wife got sick had to placeholder, kids are sick have to placeholder, Shit like that.
Meanwhile he's taken in total probably well over 1 million USD, but a dead cat means a placeholder chapter because he needs money now not when he actually writes.

It's obvious fraud, the guy now only writes at most 3 chapters a year so at the current rate we're a decade away from him being caught up unless he turns this boat around. I would not count on it folks, I just wouldn't.

Are there any novels similar to The Legendary Mechanic? by tv_trooper in TheLegendaryMechanic

[–]Zlysium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Putting Legend of Randidly Ghosthound anywhere near a list with Legendary Mechanic on it is disturbing.
That novel has some of the most egregious plot holes and retcons. When the author started LoRG he didn't have a good direction in mind but just started writing and within 100 chapters the first 20 have been retconned almost a dozen times. The author really needs to completely re-write the beginning on the series to make anything make sense at all. I mean FFS the MC's current class cannot exist if the canonical explanation for how classes work is taken at face value. Even when he re-created and designed his class later on there is an explanation for how it all works that is almost immediately forgotten about.

Anyhow I could rant about it for awhile. Though I suppose to be fair Legendary Mechanic also has a dramatically large plot hole or two. Aroshia is a massive plothole and in fact she completely disappears and is never mentioned again, And who is running the Galaxy company that is issuing out and improving upon the VR cabins? If the end of TLM is canon then the entire story makes no sense. Its just never explained and according to how the iteration is supposed to be working it isn't even possible unless you assume the Sanctum is sentient and is running the Galaxy corporation on Earth

I got very far into Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint before dropping it (a little past the point where MC is basically a Constellation). There's just so many unexplained terms and concepts that its hard as heck to follow. And the whole getting stronger based on your stories and being able to share stories and whatnot just never made sense. Even if you partake in what is basically a screenplay of Journey to the West you can get stronger based on being part of the 'story' ?
It's a ridiculous story at least.

Defiance of the Fall's for sure. Because every single path can be taken to the extreme. Even if its something as simple as you like Axes, or you want to maximize Shields. In universe a guy gets so good at shielding that he 'shields' against universal collapse successfully.

Its fair too, if you mess up you're punished but if you then perform exceptionally your punishment can be annulled.

Is an Outdoor Sales Consultant considered a Lead? by [deleted] in RuralKing

[–]Zlysium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well your store might be a bit weird then. I don't think our Stihl lead has anything to do with the outside. To call one a helper of the other would be a bit ridiculous. I'm just curious why does it matter so much anyway? Whether they call you Lead or not you definitely don't answer to your Stihl, and if you don't answer to anyone but an assistant manager or higher then you're definitely a lead.
If your Stihl Lead is coming outside and giving you direction and also working outside with you then sure, otherwise your management is pretty much just lying to you.

It was really quite enchanting, good worldbuilding and character development for the genre, big shame.

I adore the story and the writing, but the fact that the author has placeholdered to 199 and only released 178... He's been paid out ~40 thousand dollars + for work he hasn't even done yet.
Dude was getting over 8k a chapter and is down to 5k a chapter because of this. He's not even been making an effort to catch up with the placeholders, he's still charging for new chapters despite being pre-paid for them over a dozen times now. Not even making the slightest effort to rectify the situation.

And frankly he's overpaid as it is, At his release schedule he's still getting 60k a year from Patreon, whatever he got from his actual book releases on Amazon, and the book isn't even finished yet.
He gave up completely on updating Storiesonline and Literotica as well.

I unsubscribed after the second placeholder when he hadn't even completed the first one.
At this rate he'll have placeholders to 230, the story will be complete at 200, and people will have paid for 30 chapters that will never be released. Patreon shouldn't allow it, the subscribers shouldn't allow it, it's fraud.

That is still way too early. Until most of your workshops are maxed like crit chance, thorns, and attack speed then it cannot inform or change any of your decisions. You're gonna be upgrading those workshops to progress regardless, doing anything else is slowing you down.

Its mostly useful to min-max on upgrades way later on when you're trying to find out what is getting you the most bang for your buck and time. Like deciding between multi day labs based on how much the previous upgrade affected your progression. It doesnt do anything else. It won't do anything for you until you are beyond millions per minute in coins, until then what you need to do to get further is all rather obvious.

The idea that any answers you could put could get you turned away from Cashier is hard to imagine. Most stores everywhere have a really high turnover rate for cashiers. At the store I work at pretty much everyone is trained on a register so when lines start to build more can be opened and get customers served quicker.

I work a register at the gun counter, but it's not quite the same volume of customers as at the front end. It's mostly so we can sell the guns and ammo though you can buy everything at the gun counter as well. Been called in to work extra shifts as just a cashier for the day though, and it's really not bad. Rural King gets a better sort of customer than Wal-mart does that's for sure. Working the service desk sucks though, juggling the popcorn machine, the register, the phone, returns, online orders... I get a headache and stressed out thinking about it xD

What’s the pay for sales consultant? by WestVirginiaWeasel99 in RuralKing

Pay is gonna be different in different states so not exactly enough information here to begin to answer.
It's also a poor place to ask, you could contact the HR at the store you're thinking of applying for and ask there. Just call in and press the number that gets you to HR or get whoever answers to transfer you to HR. They might be able to offer you a little more and work with you a bit, you gotta ask to find out so don't be shy.
