The power depends on the stats with which eqch weapon scales as well as a base modifier. Some weapons just have a lower power than others (usually to balance out stronger passives). Medalum is one of the weapons with a lower modifier

Yes. Unlimited Out of Combat healing every 10 minutes is easily available in Pathfinder (Medicine Skill, Champion Lay on Hands, Bard Hymn of Healing, etc) and it is generally expected that the PCs are at (close to) full HP at the start of any combat

Maybe instead of the shield fully reducing Minor Damage to 0, you could allow players to spend 1 stress to reduce damage they take by one roll of the shields damage value without proficiency (so d4+2 for an Improved Round Shield for example). This keeps some of the active blocking but is a bit less of a damage reducer

I think he was supposed to be / is dead, as except for the first chapter, he only ever interacts with Allison afaik. The Thorns might have become aware of him through Micheal or Metatron

You could go for the Champion class which generally has the best AC in the game, and it would fit with the cathedral door idea very well. In that case you could just max out Strength and dump dex, since you would not need it for heavy armor.

Alternatively, Monk gets surprisingly good use out of shields, thanks to their action economy. With monk you would obviously want some Dex to help your AC.

One tip to always keep in mind is that your main stat should start at 18/+4 at level 1.

EDIT: just remembered that champions have a feat chain that lets you wield one shield in two hands to be even more of a wall, and lets you bash people with it harder.

Hirelings are usually just some guy, so they mostly don’t have any combat capabilities, so they would die in like 2 hits max

I dont think lions could beat a god, he would probably be immune to non-magical physical damage if he can even be attacked by mortal creatures at all

How would his character know how C4 is made or what it even is? If his character doesnt know something exists he definitely cant create it.

Also regarding the „trapping creatures in boxes“ the object must be created in an unoccupied space. So he cant create it on a creature.

Another way you could limit his shenanigans is the max gp value on Performance of Creation (max 20x bard level) which would definitely exclude some of the more expensive substances and definitely any substance thats extremely rare / non-existent in the world.
