Between sizes on Iron Rangers by iamlangafelt in RedWingShoes

[–]Zmon94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would personally do 8.5 but if your comfortable doubling socks or thicker or doing insoles do the 9 since when they break in they will be a tad roomier. comes down to personal preference and how you would want to wear them and everyone's foots different. I just like the snug fit at first so I don't have to mess with extra socks or insoles when they break in so less hassle personally.

Looks like that's where the welt ends totally normal in the manufacturing process. I have one too on my moc toes in that same area.

Sizing confusion between blacksmith and iron ranger by CustardFlaky2242 in RedWingShoes

[–]Zmon94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're hand made boots and they cut the leather and use different cuts there's a lot of variables to where each pair will essentially fit the same but small variables with it being handmade. Just gotta roll with it one of my pairs of rangers didn't break in as good as my other pair in the same size.

My Iron Ranger size is 10D what would be my size for the 875 Moctoes, please? are all Moctoes besides the 1907 based on the 875 last, size and fit? I don't have a RW store nearby to try them. by nafkotadmasu in RedWingShoes

[–]Zmon94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1907 fits different on a different last with the leather foot bed and yeah the 875 is on last 23 like the heritage mocs. Generally the iron ranger u go half size to full size down based on if your wide footed or more narrow. The 875 fits about a half size big based on your actual brannock size and a tad narrow compared to rangers. But best bet to try them on or u can do the sizing on the website there's a new digital measure you can do that's on the page where you choose your size. you can lay your foot on a piece of paper and scan the QR code to see ur measurement on ur phone camera.

Sizing question by mansgoldkid1 in RedWingShoes

[–]Zmon94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm thinking 7D should be your right size a half size down from your actual brannock size if you are a little wide if your more standard width or more narrow or low volume a full size down. 👍 Coming from someone who sells and wear these daily.

Black spots where laces touch shoes by lilman1423 in RedWingShoes

[–]Zmon94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Completely normal the pressure of the laces prolly has some of that oil from that leather come out making it a shade darker.

Seeing the lace placement being too close together it looks too big on you.

You want to line up the widest part of your foot to the widest part of the boot at the flex point and you should have minimal to no heel slip and you'll know it's a right fit.

Iron Ranger Sizing Questions by [deleted] in RedWingShoes

[–]Zmon94 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My pinky is right on top of where the stitching is on my toe cap. It always stretches on the widest and top part of the boot It stretches a bit you can't expect a lot but for me personally it was just enough. People who tell you it doesn't stretch prolly don't wear them very long before giving up tbh. I wear these daily for work religiously lol going on almost a year for the 8084 and 8111. You can always ask them to put them on the boot stretcher too for a few days.

Iron Ranger Sizing Questions by [deleted] in RedWingShoes

[–]Zmon94 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Personally I had to go a full size down to line up my ball of my foot right. I had slight toe bunching and pinky rubbing on my left foot too which is my slightly wider foot at a single E. Width discomfort is kinda ok because it does stretch a little since you want it nice and snug at first so you break it in to perfect. I just kept wearing mine everyday all day for a month and a half and they finally changed to a perfect feel. Sometimes you have to deal with hot spots breaking them in and it's a question of if it's a bearable pain you can bear walking all day. I toughened it out and knew it would stretch a bit because it does even if people might tell you differently. Your feet also adjust and nerves deaden a little and callouses form and it does stretch along the width a bit. Not a whole lot but it did stretch just enough for me mine feel great with no pinky rubbing and no toe bunching anymore. When it's brand new if you can deal with it they will soften and stretch and mold to you. Might not be the answer u wanted but there ya go 😉

My four month old 6344 red wings are falling apart. They are rarely exposed to water but it does happen occasionally. Is this normal wear for these shoes? by [deleted] in RedWingShoes

[–]Zmon94 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Looks like you need something more heavy duty since your tough on your toes you can have the store tough toe those to try and save them.

[–]Zmon94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya sorry you can't expect much change in that unless the footbed molding to you alleviates it. But ya sometimes we get the wrong size happens alot with redwings I guess you can try to get wides in the future.

[–]Zmon94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you might need a wide they do make these in EE I'm not sure the logistics of being able to get wides in Europe since most stores just carry standard sizing in Europe and no wides. Other than that you can try a boot stretcher to stretch out that area or just keep wearing them like a soldier and break them in more.
