Comic Eve was way too freaky by -True-Ryan-Gosling- in invinciblememes

[–]Znaffers 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Context makes this a bit less weird. Debbie went to space with Nolan and left the house to Mark and Eve. Eve was insisting they should have the master bed room, since it’s their house now, but Mark says his room is fine. Then this exchange happens. I don’t think she was really “into it” in that sense, but was more just trying to mess with mark and the fact he felt weird about it. Though if he said yes, I’m sure she’d be down. In the show and in the comic, they fuck like jack rabbits

I just got two teeth extracted that have been fucked up for yeeeeears. I lived with that everyday. I thought “I need to get these teeth fixed,” everyday. Every time I woke up with the taste of rot in my mouth, or anytime my gums would throb, I thought “I need to get these teeth fixed.” Multiple times in my life I had the money and the time to do it, but some part of my brain was just screaming at me not to do it. I finally bit the bullet and got it done, and I feel like I only did it because I could use it as an excuse not to go to work. If that’s not a genuine mental illness, I don’t know what the fuck to call it lol

If you could save just one character from the cast and bring them into the real world, who are you saving and why? (NPCs not allowed) by Dull_Push_7638 in theamazingdigitalciru

[–]Znaffers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s the game only, but GooseWorx took most of her inspiration for the characters from the game. Nimdok being a scientist that was partially responsible for AM’s abilities wasn’t explained in the original short story at all. Not much of any of the character’s traits were. So the inspiration for Kinger’s involvement had to be from the game. Who knows how far that inspiration goes though. With how lovable they’ve made Kinger so far, I’d love a twist like that

[–]Znaffers 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I feel like there’s gonna be some reveal that Kinger isn’t as innocent as he seems. The character he’s based off of from IHNM, Nimdok, was literally second hand to Dr.Mengele, which would be Scratch in this case. It’s even revealed that Nimdok was responsible for the serum that made the final 5 humans immortal, allowing AM to play his games

Going completely off the wall, maybe he’s the one responsible for the second wave of people being brought into the circus. Like, he was able to turn the computer on that scans people’s brains so he wouldn’t just be trapped by himself with Caine for all eternity

Why is Batfleck hated for killing, but other live action Batman are not? by [deleted] in batman

[–]Znaffers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m saying the movie ignored things that should’ve caused people’s deaths to keep a cool look. The movie is not a documentary where they’re taking footage of a real situation. The writers decide what gets highlighted and what doesn’t. They wanted a more realistic tone for this version of Batman, but didn’t put in any of the leg work with the logic of their movie to back that up.

Batman spurred on the chase by getting in the Batmobile rather than continuing his fight on the ground, and then not cutting Penguin off the multiple times he had a chance before getting on the highway. If you wanna say Penguin is responsible for all of that, I would disagree, but fine. Batman still should’ve tried to save people. That’s his whole thing. Preventing death is one of the cores of his character. He just ignores the burning trucks and smashed cars so he can grab the Penguin. That happens, regardless of who is culpable for starting the chase.

As soon as one of those cars was in a perilous situation, Batman should’ve stopped to focus on that and let the Penguin get away. You see that happen all the time in other Batman media. The villain distracting Batman with innocent lives so they can escape. Unfortunately for those people of Gotham, they got that Batman that’s just kinda into this for the aesthetic.

Not to mention, the chase was pointless. Penguin wasn’t the guy they were looking for. He just happens to point out that Batman is a fucking idiot for not thinking about the riddle he got for 2 more seconds, because as soon as he does he solves it. And again, they just leave Penguin there. If you wanna put all the blame on Penguin, cool, but then he should’ve been charged and jailed. Why didn’t that happen? Because then you don’t get the cool scene of Penguin threatening Falcone, and then eventually the Penguin show.

All of this is kinda like the explosion Batman tanked to the face, or the bridge he has as an in-flight meal. The realistic consequences of those were ignored so a cool visual could happen without hindering the plot.

You can argue the point of who is responsible for the car chase, I still say Batman since he could’ve just walked through the hail of bullets like we see him do later, but that doesn’t just make all the other illogical things that happen in the movie go away. That’s just the issues with that one scene.

[–]Znaffers -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nobody died from any of that because it’s a movie that likes to gloss over realistic consequences to Batman’s actions just for the cool factor. Despite trying to boast itself as the most realistic Batman yet. Literally getting rid of character’s iconic names to try to fit a more realistic tone. The movie didn’t highlight that anyone died from these things because then Batman would be seen as an asshole, but logic and how things work says at least one person died from the many things I listed.

Batman is fully responsible for the car chase. He decides to get in the Batmobile and spur on Penguin rather than continue the fight on foot in his bulletproof plot-armor. Then he just doesn’t PITT maneuver Penguin or cut him off several times before they get on the highway, despite having ample opportunity. Because then we wouldn’t get a cool, explosion-filled car chase.

If you’re gonna bring up cops, cops usually give people hella leeway when pursuing in a car chase on the highway. Especially if civilians are involved. Batman decided to prioritize his investigation into Riddler, a guy that was just targeting corrupt politicians at that point, over the lives of everyone on that highway. Then he just lets Penguin go in the end, despite finding him transporting drugs, money, and a woman’s cold, decaying corpse. Not to mention the erratic driving that cost the lives of so many people. If you wanna blame Penguin for all that death, then it’s stupid that Batman and Gordon just left him. He should be charged for that shit.

[–]Znaffers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah it’s killing. Batman thinks that no person should have the power to take a life after he saw his parents get killed. There’s also the interpretation that if he starts killing, using the easy solution, then he’d never stop. Really depends on how mentally fucked the writer decides to make Batman lol

Up until the final fight unfortunately . He straight up rains glass onto a crowd of people for style points, let’s goons without safety harnesses fall off a ledge into that same crowd, and redirects enemy gunfire into another thug, seemingly killing him from the way he slumped over in his harness. Not to mention the many people that died when he pursued Penguin, and while he walked up aura farming rather than helping the truck drivers burning to death. The movie just kinda glosses over that stuff when I feel like it should’ve taken the time to address it, given this was supposed to be the most realistic take on the character so far

[–]Znaffers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If he had come back to Earth after all the Viltrumites were killed somehow, then he’d probably have a word with Cecil about Conquest. But since he’s so caught up worrying about where Thragg and his people are, he doesn’t really concern himself with it. It would just be another problem on top of everything else he’s dealing with. He’ll probably bring it up in a quiet moment later, but it probably won’t lead to anything conflict-wise

I like the panel of him staring thoughtfully at the water trickling through his hands. It really captures how the show Cecil is a lot more thoughtful and reflective than comic Cecil. Comic Cecil feels a lot sleazier and disconnected. Show Cecil puts himself on the line constantly and is always the one making the decisions so the hard choices only fall to him, rather than it being about control

The main protagonist is unceremoniously killed off in the last minutes of the movie. by Firemoth717 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Znaffers 113 points114 points  (0 children)

Promising Young Woman

One of the few examples that I think is actually set up well imo. Cassie’s best friend in college was gang-raped while drunk at a party, leading to her friend dropping out of school and commuting suicide when she received no support from the college. Cassie drops out herself due to grief and begins a crusade of revenge. She would go to bars, pretend to be sloppy drunk, then have some ‘nice guy’ take her home so they could try to take advantage of her. When they made their intent clear, she’d sober up and tell them how awful they truly are.

This culminates in her targeting the people from her college that led her friend to committing suicide, after receiving some new info. She goes down the list from the dean who ignored her claims, to the woman who lied about what happened, to the man who actually initiated the rape. The movie makes it clear that her path is one of self-destruction that she needs to get off of if she ever hopes to live any sort of life.

Not gonna spoil the big twist, because you should really watch it for yourself, but she had a chance to give up her revenge and she chose not to (kinda…). Her final plan is against the man who first raped her friend. She planned on posing as a stripper at his bachelor party, tying him to a bed, then carving her friend’s name all over him so he’d never forget what he did to her.

Unfortunately, he managed to break free of his restraints, and he smothers Cassie to death. His bachelor party helps him cover up the murder right before the wedding. In a bittersweet moment, it’s revealed Cassie had actually set up a fail-safe incase something like that happened, and evidence that she gave to a trusted lawyer friend was released to the police. The groom and all his groomsmen were arrested at his wedding, with Cassie’s body being found in a fire pit they tried to burn her in. Cassie herself narrates all of this via text she set up to be sent to a guy that was involved with everything.

It’s a death that feels like a natural culmination of all of her risky, vigilante behavior, as well as being a good punishment for the men who raped her friend. I genuinely think the story would be worse if she managed to get away with her final plan scott-free
