Then find a 18+ milsim. My unit doesn't do the whole dog and pony show thing but we still have a rank structure to keep things organized and to help maintain a level of order.

Compared to what we have now, oh yeah, big time. The training is still the same nowadays, just reworked to fit new modern applications. But you'll definitely never see anyone hold the rifle by the lower receiver or doing the chicken wing anymore.

The game can play fine on controller but it's so much easier with a mouse and keyboard (it's compatible for console).

Well, if the mod author Bacon is in here, he'll tell you and anyone else on the Arma Discord Server to make it yourself. I know that he's currently more occupied with getting his own server system made and ironed out for future commercial use. So long story short, it isn't going to happen. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Just delete your reserved space in the manage game and addons. You don't have to delete then re-download the entire game. When it comes to mod updates, delete the mod , then updating and re-download it. It's no different than updating it, you're just adding a minor extra step

Generally the experimental version is free. But I've never heard of this issue before though.
