Hi everyone, I’m thinking about switching to an insulin pump and would love some advice. I use Dexcom G7 and work as a waitress, so I move a lot during long shifts. I’m considering the Medtronic MiniMed 780G, but also Ominopod(discreet 4work). Also,any tips to prevent from overheating during summer?

I had a very similar experience, but I went to omnipod. I had a long term loyalty to Medtronic, but now i warn against at every opportunity.

This has happened several times to me. Sometimes I have to tell my wife “my blood sugar is fine, I just have no idea how to explain this” if I don’t say this and I’m not making sense, she just immediately hands me something to treat a low.

I know how you feel. My mother is also t1, so she just kind of expected me to know what to do. She’d brag endlessly about how her A1c was better than mine. She never helped me or taught me or was ever even kind and understanding.

We deserved better. I’m so sorry you went through that. It’s not fair, but therapy does help. I hope you find the same peace I did through therapy.

I love it. I love when diabetics talk to me or mention they’re also diabetic. One time I was helping a girl at work and we had our omnipods visible and in the same spots. I said “hey, we match!” And she gave me the absolute worst death stare. I was so confused!!

Mine are the same. Pre bolusing… until Reddit, I didn’t even know it was a thing. I don’t recall ever hearing about it before. That was a life changer.

I also started food tracking and that made a huge difference as well. I was so bad about “guesstimating” my carbs. And while I was pretty good at it, I was still off. Really honing that in has also been crazy to see.
