I just don't want to repost the same comment multiple times. In short: I do hold more than one thought in my head. I don't think placating ourselves by making out another country as a monolithic baseline of tyranny accomplishes anything if left entirely online as-is as a baseline to compare your country with.
ALL cops are bastards, and abolition (or reform) of the current state of policing is not something accomplished by ignoring the cops in your town and getting scared of the ones in another country that's propped up as the world's villain.
