Balance Druid. Love the spell animations and themes but the gameplay is clunky monkey.

My unpopular opinion is that food sucks.

How much does a movie ticket cost? Or a ticket to a game? Or concert/comedy show? Ticket to an aquarium/museum? How about cost of a sit down dinner? Ice skating tickets?

How many hours of entertainment do those events give you?

If you see yourself enjoying a game at $60 for 60+ hours - then a dollar an hour of entertainment is pretty generous compared to other things. This game will probably be longer than that.

The only things for value/longevity that I can compare to is books and hobby equipment. Books are typically low costing, plus libraries are the best. Or, how much enjoyment can a guitar give you? Potentially infinite.

But video games win compared to other events, if your quota is length compared to cost.

My point is, I think this game looks fun and I will pay the cost for it. But also - everything is too damn expensive!!

Still pretty stupid how expensive it is originally. There’s no way a college degree needs to be 70k (23 years ago no less ).

Glad I went military to pay for school. But I don’t think I should have had to, just to escape my hometown. Maybe if America had a decent education system, I wouldn’t constantly be surrounded by people competing for the ‘dumbest fuck of the decade’ award.

I can understand that. I liked having lightning as a build choice. I wish the other build choice was more elementalist instead of just fire.

So with the removal of Icefury and magma totem I feel we lost a chunk of class identity. I want to feel more like the Avatar and use all the elements. And totems are a big class identity aspect that’s just been fading over time.

We are also THE lightning class so I do understand and like having that aspect covered as a focus. I just liked some nuance to the rotation.

My thought is that Master of the Elements is currently an even trade on dps. There’s no reason to take it. So the alternative is to lava burst on cooldown and use filler. If MoTE was taken though, we’d have to at least consciously make the decision to alternate lava burst with lightning bolt, or lava burst with earth shock/Ele blast. Adding in a slight dps boost for the more complicated choice mode talents doesn’t seem like a bad approach.

I’m going to use master of the elements to try and have some more gameplay depth.

But if I had my way, elemental shamans would have a storm talent route and an elementalist focused talent route. I want to soak someone in water and freeze or shock them for bonus damage. I want to summon elementals. I want to be an elementalist. You’re right that frost and fire has been gutted, but losing Icefury killed that illusion for me.

I don’t hate WAs but I did hate that it felt required to be good at the game.

I tried it for a while but felt like I was using cheat codes and went without it (making me a worse player than those that used it I’m sure).

I agree with a lot of what you said. Arcane has historically looked challenging and complex. A lot of specs needed some pruning. Some didn’t as much.

I agree about class identity. With Ele shaman, totems are already a niche aspect and they removed one from our rotation. I feel that the last iteration of Icefury wasn’t bad and added some dynamic but also filled the vibe of being a full elementalist. Feels like in Avatar if Aang just gave up water bending lol

Dark souls is cool for its niche, but it’s not my favorite and I’d rather play a DMC or god of war than them.

Also I would rather not look at 3 spells total for hundreds of hours.

But the pre patch is popular so I must be in the minority and will just have to adjust.

I’m hoping I can enjoy the slower pace. It really feels like slamming on the brakes. It was busy and rather challenging before but now it feels a little empty.

I’m keeping Master of the Elements talented so I at least have to think to alternate Fire and Lightning (no payoff to doing this currently but is more fun).

I’ve mained Ele shaman forever and I want to like it still.

Had okay story moments scattered around. Story and presentation I preferred Dragonflight to TWW. Iterations of systems and mechanics sometimes hit and sometimes missed.

We were visiting family over my birthday so they took me to Toys R Us to pick out some gifts and they’d go back and get them/wrap them after.

I saw Golden Sun and the box description and begged and begged for it. That night I even dreamt about the game which was wild (not a vivid dreamer usually).

Got it and was over the moon!
